Good example of why many engineers recommend extending the upper downspout to the lower eavestrough. Concentrated flow wreaks havoc on the lower shingles as is clearly evident. This 10 year old roof will need to be addressed well before the end of its normal service life. A relatively simple and cheap extension could have avoided this problem.
