June is and the CSA Foodbank and Student Wellness are coming together to raise awareness around the overlap between disability and access to good food, and what supports are available to U of G students.
People with disabilities are more likely to experience food insecurity than people without disabilities. Folks with more than one disability experience food insecurity at higher rates, as do people of colour who experience disabilities. Gryphons are not an exception to this issue: nearly one quarter of U of G students experience food insecurity.
Read our post for stats on how disabilities and food insecurity affect U of G students, and learn about the food programs available on campus. Students have access to knowledge, resources and food markets right on campus, and support is available virtually and on a 1-to-1 basis to match students’ accessibility needs.
