Hello everyone!
HOPES Health Centre is looking for new volunteer executives for the next academic year. HOPES is a student-led, interprofessional organization dedicated to providing health services to marginalized communities in Halifax. With the pandemic, we've had to close our weekly clinic, but we've been keeping busy with donation drives, partnering with non-profit organizations in Halifax, updating our online presence, and planning for the future. We're very close to re-opening our weekly clinic and will need our new executives to take up several roles and responsibilities in the near future.
Our volunteer executives are responsible for liaising with their respective faculties and students and representing our student volunteers. They will also be asked to help with the day-to-day running of HOPES by spearheading one of the portfolios which can include: finance & accounting, outreach, preceptor coordinator, volunteer coordinator, and more.
Currently, we are accepting applications for the following positions: Vice President, MHA Representative, Pharmacy Representative, Dental Hygiene Representative, and Social Work Representative.
If you have questions about the roles or would like to express interest in joining, please contact us at [email protected] so we can provide you with the next steps and role descriptions.
The deadline for applications is Mar 14 at 6pm.
We look forward to hearing from you!

The hand holding our heart symbolizes “holding onto hope,” to remind ourselves, each other, and the community that there is always hope for the disadvantaged and marginalized communities that we work our hardest everyday to provide help and support for from within our healthcare disciplines.

With nearly 1 in 2 Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, we're more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease.
Please help us reach our fundraising goal. No matter how much you donate, every dollar goes a long way. A donation of $25, $50 or $100 could help ensure a team of researchers has the resources they need to make a life-changing discovery, or a patient has access to support services when they need it most.
Think about the impact we can make together!
