29 and feeling kinda fine, a little old, nostalgic, sore, crackly, need more sleep… just put me in the 30s club already

I’ve been practicing and manifesting gratitude lately. Amongst all the chaos that goes on around us (especially as of lately), I never want to forget how to ground myself; a healthy reality check if you will.

Here’s 5 things I’m thankful for this Saturday because I need a positivity boost 🤍

• Having the fresh ocean air just beyond my backyard to breathe in. NYC air quality was horrendous and I couldn’t wait to fill my lungs with salty, crisp air again. You’re never more than 60km from the ocean in NS 🫶🏻

• My legs & arms. They carry whatever I need, bring me where I need to go, hold a camera (aka my life), keep me healthy & active, hug those closest to me & so much more. I’ve been so thankful for my health and mobility lately. Don’t take what we’re lucky to be born with, for granted.

• My youth. I’m still so young, so are you, yet society rushes us to believe we aren’t. Your youth is in the present, not the past or the future; you’re the oldest you’ve ever been in this exact moment but also the youngest you’ll ever be again, take advantage of that.

• Calling Canada home. Although it hasn’t felt that way recently with all the seemingly overnight changes, we are still SO lucky to live here. Don’t forget your beautiful surroundings we are fortunate to have here. If you have a roof over your head, neighbours down the road, trees everywhere, community, family or friends a phone call away, you’re luckier than over a billion people. Never stop fighting for that right, for everyone.

• To make a living off of a camera. Like… what? Sometimes I check myself when I’m having a bad day, thinking “is this job really for me?” Are you kidding? Yes it’s tough some days and not everyone could do it but that’s the whole point. You’re lucky enough to be capable to hold this job down and experience all the beauty that comes with it. Be blessed you aren’t working for the shareholders 🤢
