🌀 Did you know August starts the peak of hurricane season? Even if your loved one lives far away from the coastline, they may still be impacted by power outages, floods and supply chain disruptions due to the size, strength and longevity of these storms.
✔️ We encourage you to make sure they are prepared before a hurricane or other natural disaster strikes.
-Know their area: Find out if a loved one's property is in a flood zone or evacuation zone. You can check your provincial flood maps.
-Emergency Kit: Make sure they are stocked up on water, non-perishable food, medications, and first-aid supplies.
-Evacuation Plan: Know their highway routes and have a plan in place.
-Stay Informed: Monitor weather updates and heed official warnings.
-Secure Their Home: Protect windows and doors, and secure outdoor items.
-Communication Plan: Keep phones charged and in constant contact.
