Sambro is the oldest surviving lighthouse in North America. Built in 1759 and renovated in 1906 to install the Fresnel lens, which now on display at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. An exposed crossing to reach the island requires proficient sea kayaking skills and nice weather. Ask us about skills training clinic and courses if this interests you.
