Today we're gonna talk about the importance of layering your heat protectant!
This lovely client came in to see me a few weeks ago.
She had, had her hair toned down just a couple weeks prior and came in with a lot of red/ brassy tones coming through already. After a thorough consultation we narrowed it down to the lack of heat protection used when styling her hair. This caused all of her colour to burn out leaving her with brassy tones shining through from previous lightening.
Layering your heat protectant is crucial when it comes to maintaining the health and color of your hair.
Applying a heat protectant before blow drying is important. I personally LOVE the quick blowout, speeding up your blow drying time and applying heat protection up to 450F.
When using additional hot tools like flat irons or curling irons, it's essential to apply an extra layer of heat protection. For this step I LOVE the Perfect Defence, it's aerosol application applies a thin layer of heat protection without weighing the hair down or being sticky. This extra step helps safeguard your hair from damage, prevents color fading or brassiness, and reduces the likelihood of split ends. By prioritizing heat protection, you can keep your hair looking vibrant and maintain its integrity!
