Clocking in at some 1,000 meters above sea level, Tornatore is situated on the northern side of Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. The soils have volcanic origin and were created through the disintegration of lava, ash and stones from previous volcanic eruptions. The unique combination of soil, climate and the skill of the winemakers, have made the northern slope of Etna an ideal area for the production of high-quality wines.

This weekend, we have two new-to-us releases from Tornatore that come from the Pietrarizzo Cru, considered one of the best in all of Mount Etna. Perfect for popping now or tucking away, don't pass up on the opportunity to try these delicious bottles!

Today is the official launch of the 21st year of Case of Compassion.

Case of Compassion is an annual fundraising campaign for organized in partnership with Bishop’s Cellar. The concept is simple: purchase a case of selected wine and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Feed Nova Scotia to provide critical food support and advocate for long-term solutions to food insecurity.

Gran Orendain Tequila 🌵

The Orendain family has crafted exceptional tequila since 1840, starting with Doña Elisa Orendain's La Chiripa distillery. In 1926, Don Eduardo Orendain Gonzalez expanded the legacy by founding Casa Mexicana in Tequila, Jalisco, now home to Tequila Orendain, Gran Orendain, and Ollitas, among others.

Gran Orendain tequilas use family estate-grown agaves harvested at 7-8 years of age from their own estate; a single plantation of 5000 hectares of Blue Agave fields.

New Beaujolais 🍇 🇫🇷

Jean-Paul Brun’s Domaine des Terres Dorées, located in Charnay, Côte de Brouilly, has been crafting wines since 1979. Focusing on terroir, Jean-Paul favours traditional winemaking, avoiding carbonic maceration to preserve authenticity. He hand-sorts grapes, destems, and uses indigenous yeasts for a genuine Beaujolais experience.

Beaujolais might just be the perfect Thanksgiving pairing. What makes it so? Well, for starters, it’s incredibly flexible and surprisingly powerful. With Thanksgiving dinner, that flexibility is crucial since the range of flavours and sweetness of traditional dishes pushes the boundaries of conventional wine pairings. Unlike big, bold wines that demand the spotlight, Beaujolais goes with the flow. The ideal partner for ham, and a lovely red to pair with turkey.
