Our members had a BLAST at yesterday’s rifle event at the Burlington Rifle and Revolver Club.
We started by trying .22lr sporting and hunting rifles, then moved up to big bore rifles including the type 81, Kar 98, Mosin M44, and M1 Garand!
Overall, this event packed some serious firepower and we are grateful for the support of the BRRC volunteers for helping us run this event.

Turnover is officially complete for our president and vice president. Congratulations to Daniel Almeida for being elected president, and Luke Elmes for returning as vice president. I am sure everyone is excited to see what you have planned for the club.
Now that elections are complete, we are moving forward with executive hiring. This is a great opportunity to get more involved with the club and develop leadership skills. The available roles are: director of marketing, team captain, director of finance, and secretary general. You can read the job description for each at this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hxDaE5iqfNOwBh3Z5ExYQmjXRVBP5tFd18HeONGgIPw/edit?usp=sharing
If any of these positions appeal to you, please apply at this google form: https://forms.gle/16SYfDG2CkMHK2zu9 by August 16th at 11:59PM EST to be considered!
(By the way, being an executive comes with the perk of being able to attend an executive-exclusive event.)
Good luck with your applications!
Hello everyone,
Our first year as an MSU-ratified club is coming to an end. Throughout the term we have grown to a club of over 50 members, hosted over 15 events, and many of our members have won competitions/prizes from the CUSF (including a rifle). This would not have been possible without the amazing leadership of our President Shamy and Vice President Luke.
If you want to take the club to new heights, now is your chance! We are calling for presidential and vice-presidential nominations to take over the club's leadership for the 2023-2024 term. Shamy and Luke have left some pretty big shoes to fill, but the biggest requirement is having a valid PAL/RPAL!
Presidential nominations will be open for one week starting on July 13, 2023 and ending at 11:59PM on July 20, 2023.
The roles of president and vice president come with a number of responsibilities including (but not limited to):
Appointing club executives
Planning and running events with the other club execs
Announcing club events and event schedules
Scheduling and hosting club executive and general meetings
Maintaining lines of communication with the CUSF
Maintaining records of club membership
Storing club owned equipment as needed
Managing club finances
Please Note: A Valid PAL/RPAL is required to apply for these roles.
If you would like to nominate yourself, please fill out this Google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc4-Zp383PH0A5bBKTzMH6xm4LuxFuYBGBMxDwfp9RM-59eVg/viewform
If presidency is not your cup of tea, but you would still like to be more involved in the club, keep an eye out for our executive position postings! The new president and vice president will appoint executive roles around September.
NOTE: Not all executive roles require an RPAL, so it is possible to get involved without having a fi****ms license.
Best of luck if you decide to apply!
On Sunday June 11th MUSS will be hosting a smallbore and military surplus shooting event at the Burlington Rifle and Revolver Club. We’ll start the day off with some smallbore shooting from 10am-12pm and then in the afternoon attendees will have an opportunity to shoot a variety of historically significant military fi****ms from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Whether you want to refine your precision shooting skills by shooting smallbore, or if you are passionate about history, this is the event for you.
The event has a $15 registration fee that covers all ammunition for the smallbore portion of the event. Ammunition for the military surplus fi****ms will be sold per round during the event.
We would like to extend our appreciation to our sponsor Solely Outdoors who has generously supplied our club with 9mm and .22 ammunition for this event. Check out their website here: https://www.solelyoutdoors.com

June 3rd is National Range Day in Canada, and the Burlington Rifle and Revolver Club will be hosting an open house style event to celebrate. This event will give individuals a chance to try out the shooting sports in a safe and welcoming environment. And the best part, you do not need to be a member of our student club or have a fi****ms license to participate!
There is no registration or fee to attend this event, just show up and have fun! The first 10 shots will be free and additional ammunition can be purchased for a modest cost. All targets and safety equipment will be provided, and there will be complimentary hamburgers and soft drinks.
BRRC will also have their outdoor archery range open for those who attend. There is no cost for archery and all equipment and supervision will be provided.
There will also be some historical exhibits open for viewing showcasing some antique fi****ms and military memorabilia.
If you are thinking about becoming a member of our club, this is a great opportunity to try out the shooting sports at minimal to no cost!
Hope to see you there!

On April 22 our club had the pleasure of organizing a Solely Outdoors sponsored event. Their sponsorship of ammunition supported our members in trying a wide variety of pistols, carbines, and shotguns at the Wentworth Shooting Sports Club.
As we all know, the shooting sports can be pricey, and sponsorships like this make the sport more accessible to a wider range of students by lowering the cost. We would like to extend a big thank you to Solely for providing us with ammunition and to the Wentworth shooting sports club for hosting the event.
Go check out the Solely Outdoors store in Markham and visit their website at the link in our Bio.

Happy new year from the McMaster University Shooting Sports Club!
We had an exciting year as a freshly ratified McMaster Athletics and Recreation Club and would love to share a snapshot of the year.
Our year review:
- We had 30 new students try sport shooting for the first time
- 38 people attend our events total
- 7 student mentors and 4 professional coaches supported our events
- Hosted events at 3 different locations
- Had students try over 30 different guns
- Had students try 5 different sports shooting disciplines
We couldn't get everyone in our collage but we are grateful to everyone's enthusiastic involvement with the club!
Thank you to everyone who helped with our events. It takes a village to run this many events, offer this much variety, and support this many new sports shooters and hobbyists.
Here's to another year of making friends and learning a new sport!
