This beautiful day was captured so perfectly by , I mean… I’m not surprised AT ALL, but she really out did her self this time.

We used early summer florals in the softest, loveliest palate for our bride and her look is flawless!!

O + J and I first started chatting a couple of years ago and we didn’t meet until the day of the wedding. Mostly because this gorgeous duo live in Ireland and planned their wedding long distance!!

It’s always a little wild to see what comes to life after a few phone calls, a mood board and some trust.

So thankful to be included as part of the team for this gorgeous event! There are so many good photos, this will definitely not be the only post we do to showcase these two! 🧚‍♂️🧚🏻‍♀️

Once a florist and rose farmer herself, Ginny now uses her creativity with interior design to make spaces that feel uniquely connected to the natural surroundings.
She’s a devoted grandmother to our two little cuties and we’re all so glad she’s ours.

Happy Pride Month, dearest FlowerFam 🌈🫶🌸

I’m using this post as something of a belated personal re-introduction, and for various reasons it’s taken me much longer than the majority of June 2024 to piece it together.

This is partly because writing vulnerably for a public audience (or simply just writing, period) is so hard and it’s also that I’m recovering frustratingly slowly from much of what is mentioned here.

(Content warning: mental health, spiritual grief & deconstruction, mention of su***de attempts)

In January of 2023 I went straight to the psychiatric department of a local hospital following a life-threatening mental health episode. I’d like to say this was my first such visit but these acute crises and suicidal ideation date back to high school days when existing in the world began feeling near impossible. (With much ongoing help I now hope and trust it will be the last time.)

For context, being raised in an Evangelical Christian home meant I as a teen was ill-equipped to deal with sexual thoughts, q***r or otherwise, all categorized as “sinful” and regularly requiring morose apology and atonement. What can be described as a mental prison began forming in my young mind where I made unceasing prayers to be either hormonally neutered from within or spared the agony of this constant self-loathing via the “gift” of a premature death. It sounds pretty fu***ng bleak because it was just that.

I had no friends who I could trust to understand me on this level; gay crushes felt like a cruel curse and I was lucky enough to rely on gendered school uniform, performatively hypermasculine sports teams, a Men’s Health subscription, and numerous underlined Bible verses to preserve some coherent sense of self amidst the crippling doubts of answering who I really was.

That I am here and now writing on this means, thankfully, none of my darkest wishes were granted 🖤

Thank you to everyone who came out to our porch sale yesterday! It was so lovely seeing all your faces again and we do hope you are cherishing all the treasures you found.

Our summer is starting off on a really positive note. We’ve got some gorgeous weddings booked and some family time too. After 15 years as a florist I’m starting to finally learn work/life balance.

We have a lot of new friends on Instagram lately and we were asked a few times yesterday “are you opening a shop??” LOL NO!

We are leaving retail behind as we commit fully to our special events business. Commercial space is so expensive and we want to invest everything we have back into our home (this economy Amiright?).
This is why we cleared out our basement and why we’re planning to transform it and our backyard and shed into the studio of our dreams.

Thanks for following us here, and on the Tok while we set our on our next business adventure, as a family.

Hibernation season means a lot more time spent indoors and, like the old homebodies we are, it’s something to look forward to.

This weekend past we welcomed the lovely and into our home to capture some shots of life as they found it.

If nothing it was a great excuse to clean the house, but as you’ll see they sure made not just Elphi but all of us look pretty cute!

Inviting professional photographers over takes a degree of vulnerability we’re not typically used to. This experience and the photos themselves showed sides of us that we will long cherish in family memories together.
