We don’t talk much about the farming industry here on this page, but it’s a hot topic these days and we love that more people are becoming increasingly educated about where their food comes from, and choosing quality over mass production.

Farming isn’t easy, or glamourous, (or highly profitable, to be honest, if you’re doing it right). Our pigs take 18 months to raise, which means that forecasting that far in advance is tough and a balance between having an abundance of pigs to feed ($$$ ask any farmer about the price of feed these days!) and needing to supplement our supply at the shoppe. Our market customers and wholesale customers always get our pigs. At the shoppe, this is the 2nd time in 6 years of being open that we’ve gratefully called on our amazing friend, Jeff Linton, of to help us out at the shoppe!!! 🐷 As a butcher shoppe, bringing in beef from other small local farms who share our values, is how we operate, and for a short time, we’ll be supplementing our Pork with Jeff’s beautiful animals.
