Banana Bread with honey and applesauce instead of sugar & oil. Delicious & Healthy.
Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar free applesauce
3/4 cup honey
2 eggs, beaten
3 mashed overripe bananas
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, mix together applesauce and honey. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

Why can we love our children unconditionally but we cannot love ourselves unconditionally? Why is our self-love usually attached to our body image? Would we love our children less if they were a little bit overweight? Of course not! Can you imagine what this would do to their self-esteem? It would be incredibly cruel!!! It would be considered a form of emotional abuse... yet we do this to ourselves continuouslyπ³ WHY???
I've just gone through one of the toughest times in my life. The last few months have been difficult. Physically, but mostly emotionally. I'm going to be perfectly honest here and tell you that once again I am in the hate part of this love/hate relationship with myself, with my body. Somewhere along the way I have fallen back into thinking that my happiness is connected to my weight, to how I look and feel about my body. I know it's wrong but that's where I'm at! And I am determined to figure out why I do this.
It has everything to do with self-acceptance, self-respect, self-esteem. SELF-LOVE.
Sometimes it also has to do with the unhealthy relationships we choose. If we are constantly put down by other people, eventually we start to believe it. So the "abuse" can come from others , as well as ourselves! We can't change other people but we can certainly change ourselves!
Most of you know that I have been running challenge groups for several years now. But for the most part these challenge groups have focussed on nutrition and exercise. And often in these groups I have talked about digging a little bit deeper. I firmly believe that until we do this, until we take an honest look at ourselves, we will never truly be happy.
So I want to start a private group for ladies interested in a journey of self-discovery! In a search for that elusive HAPPINESS and SELF-LOVE π
