Celebrating all Mama’s today 🤍 Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers out there!

Today we celebrate my eldest daughter Elliott, who was born with a rare genetic condition called Cri Du Chat, also known as 5P- Syndrome. If you’ve been by the flower shop on a weekend or evening, the odds are good that you’ve seen our Elli bean bumming around the shop, playing with flowers and lighting up everyone’s life with her gorgeous smile. Awareness day is May 5th of every year, and on that day we wear striped socks, one long and one short, or represent the complete and the missing piece of chromosome 5.

We celebrate Elli every day, but today in particular our family takes the time to celebrate her, and spread awareness for her, and for the many things that make her different and soooo very wonderful. Spring is springing hard and that means outdoor ceremony season is finally upon us! Throwback to this gorgeous moongate arrangement at the lovely last season for K & T 🩵

Next week is go time for the Posh crew and man the excitement is real! While it’s nice to take a break (as much of a break as taking care of an infant and two bonkers toddlers is 🤣🫣!) we truly can’t wait to make magic for all our beautiful couples this season. So much love for a statement floral in a bridal bouquet. Some brides tend to shy away from a large statement bloom in their wedding day hand tied for fear that it will make the bouquet look asymmetrical, or that it will detract from the other florals in the bouquet.

I’m here to tell you there are so many ways to work a big daddy bloom (like this king protea right hurr!) into your bridal bouquet and have it compliment *not overshadow* the overall aesthetic

🌸 account for the size of the statement bloom on the opposing side of the bouquet with florals of a similar palette to visually balance
🌸 select a bloom that pops, but coordinates with the overall colour palette of the hand tied
🌸 if you’d like to showcase a statement bloom, but are only looking to make a small statement, tuck the bloom, a little deeper into the bouquet so that the other florals stand up against it a bit further
🌸🌸🌸 all bouquets are beautiful, even if they’re asymmetrical! Every one has its own little personality, and is made, especially for you 🤍

We are BIG fans of a sweetheart table over here… Wedding days are busy and crazy, and although they are so fun they are also so exhausting! Sweetheart tables give you a moment to yourselves (one of the first as husband and wife!) to relax and take it all in (and, you know, quickly eat something in between all the action!)

From a design perspective, a sweetheart table also provides a beautiful vignette to highlight your florals and decor. We loved putting this table together last fall for S and J - so much moody colour and texture, and so much character in these florals - it was a stunner! Who wouldn’t want to sit here on their wedding day with their sweetheart?? 💁🏼‍♀️

The look says it all 🤍 J & M had a beautiful lakeside ceremony planned for their fall Muskoka wedding, but Mother Nature just had other things on her agenda that day. If the old saying of rain on your wedding day means good luck rings true, then these two have a lifetime of luck waiting from them. We pivoted, set up a beautiful indoor ceremony, and these two lovebirds didn’t waste a moment stressing about a little rain!

I & J had the most stunning day for their October wedding last year, and we loved being a part of it. J’s bouquet was romantic and whimsical, with ivory layers of ranunculus and and ruffled lissies that played beautifully off of her lace dress. Not to mention, how sweet is this “I Do” crew 😍😍

We’ll just be over here dreaming about these florals on this dreary January day…

W & J’s Drysdale wedding was nothing short of dreamy… 3+ years in the making, and the day was so perfectly imperfect. From a delayed ceremony, to an “I do” that could have been plucked from a rom-com (torrential downpour during the bride and groom’s vows, anyone 😂) to a romantic first dance in an empty greenhouse together.

For their florals, we worked in a palette of mauves and lilac’s with some gorgeous pops of green… A little bit wild, a lot romantic, with a ton of whimsy in the mix - just like their magical day ✨
