It's been the honour of my life to serve as Premier of British Columbia. I've tried my level best every day to make a positive difference in people's lives.

I'm looking forward to spending more time with Ellie, serving as an MLA, and going back to just being John from Langford.

Thank you, for everything.

Hello everyone!
We are looking to hold another Day of Action sometime in November to further inform our fellow students about the proportional representation vote and to encourage people to send in their ballots. Our question to you is what date would work best for those that would like to participate as volunteers:

November 6th, November 20th, or November 22nd?

Please be sure to respond in the comments below so that we can ensure that we choose a date that accommodates the most members!

Welcome back everyone! We had a great time at Clubs Day on Wednesday. It was a pleasure to meet so many new members. We have a couple exciting events this week as we start the new semester:

Our first club meeting will be taking place on Monday (September 17) at 3:30pm in EME 1162. This will be a time to get to know each other a bit and share ideas about what we would like to see happen over the next year.

This Sunday (September 16) there will be a Young New Democrats training event at Parkinson Rec Centre from 1:45 to 4:30. This is a great opportunity to connect with other New Democrats in Kelowna and brush up on some campaign skills.

Looking forward to a great year ahead.

UBCSUO

Yesterday was an historic day at the The University of British Columbia (UBC). Just as in the Great Trek, UBC students gathered together to stand firm, as a statement to the powers of the time, to build a university at Point Grey. Yesterday, students who have trekked from all parts of the globe and from all walks of life, gathered to stand firm once again, but this time in a commitment to another 100 years of changing lives, bettering our world, and seeking greater understanding.

As the voice of students at UBC Okanagan, Your Students' Union could not be more proud to wear the UBC badge and all that it stands for. With that, we say: Happy 100th Birthday UBC, and Happy 10th Birthday, UBCO.

This attack on education is shameful, hurting students, families and teachers. BC deserves better. Let's give teachers a fair wage, our students a worthy education and end this strike! We support BC teachers!

let you know about a forum on seniors’ home support the BC Government and Service Employees’ Union is planning in Kelowna. We will have the BC Ombudsperson speak about her recommendations in the 2012 report The Best of Care, as well as a representative from the BC Health Coalition and a home support worker talk about the practical aspects of home support. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions directly of the Ombudsperson, and to take action to improve conditions for many seniors.

We would appreciate if you could encourage yourself, friends, particularly those concerned about the wellbeing of our seniors to attend the forum, and spread the word with the attached poster. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you in advance!
