Eight years ago today, Canadians chose forward.
We still remember the speech Justin Trudeau delivered that night and how he spoke of choosing hope over division – which is just as true today, as it was in 2015. Then, as now, Canadians believed that better is always possible and that by working together with a shared positive vision for Canada’s potential we can achieve it together.

A productive spring session (despite the efforts of the Conservatives) that resulted in 15 important pieces of legislation being passed by our Liberal Party of Canada | Parti libéral du Canada government!

Liberals are committed to supporting LGBTQ2S+ people and building a society where everyone has equal rights and opportunity. We will continue to advocate and champion rights, and we will always hold space for you.
As our leader Justin Trudeau says, “With dialogue and understanding we will move forward together. But we can’t do it alone. The changing of hearts and minds is a collective effort. We need to work together, to make the crucial progress that LGBTQ Canadians deserve.”
Thank you to the firefighters who have been providing assistance in battling blazes across the country.

Look for volunteer opportunities for Kelowna Pride soon!
Happy , Canada!
Pride season is kicking off, and we can't wait to join Canadians in cities across the country to celebrate love, diversity, and inclusion.
Amplifying problems but never offering solutions. It is unfortunate that the leader of the Opposition would exploit members of our vulnerable population and use them as props to compare our city to a "third-world country."

Update from Chrystia Freeland.
🏘️ Housing is top of mind for Canadians, and our Liberal team is taking action to make it more affordable.
Here’s how ⬇️
Our party believes in providing solutions to the problems we face, because we believe that better is always possible. Pierre Poilievre? Not so much.
An update from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
Despite the cries of the Opposition, Canada's fiscal management as we emerge together from the pandemic has been based on sound policy, our strong economy, and hard-working Canadians who have returned to the workforce in large numbers. In fact, our employment rate is at 5%, which is just shy of the record-low 4.9% observed last summer. Also, Canada's debt-to-GDP ratio remains the best in the G7.
While we know that there are challenges ahead of us, together we can rise to the occasion and meet the moment.
At a massive announcement yesterday for a new electric car battery plant in St. Thomas, ON, our Liberal Party leader reminded Canadians of the difference between taking action to create jobs for the green economy of the future, and an Opposition leader with no vision, only reckless attacks.
Looking directly at local Conservative MP Karen Vecchio, who was in attendance for the announcement, Trudeau said, "Karen, you have your work cut out for you."
He framed the Volkswagen deal as a bet on a cleaner, greener future by a "confident country."
Poilievre's anti-carbon tax rhetoric threatens to derail projects like this, Trudeau said.
"Do we want to see all the anxieties we have and all the challenges around the world and say, 'This is an opportunity for Canada to step up,' or do we want to say 'Canada is broken, we're never going to succeed, let's get really mad instead,'" Trudeau said, citing Poilievre's claim that "Canada is broken" after eight years of Liberal leadership.
Trudeau blasts Poilievre at Volkswagen plant announcement | CBC News Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was on hand Friday for a major announcement that will bring thousands of auto sector jobs to southwestern Ontario and he accused his main political opponent, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, of standing in the way of the deal.
If you only watch one video online today, please sit back and watch what Mark Holland has to say about a certain "government-funded official."
Chris Bittle on Twitter “Pierre Poilievre gets up in a government-funded home so that his government-funded driver can take him to his government-funded office so he can launch attacks against Canadian institutions. Canadians deserve better than a lifelong politician trying to divide them at every turn”
The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms remains an integral piece of Canada's history and stands as a true testament to our country's commitment to its core values of democracy, equality, justice, and liberty.
The hard work of many parliamentarians, including Pierre Elliott Trudeau and Jean Chretien, to repatriate Canada's Constitution in 1982 is a legacy worth remembering, today and every day. Rights can never be taken for granted, and we should all remain committed to protecting and upholding those values.
Today, our Charter of Rights and Freedoms turns 41. Let’s recommit to upholding this document for generations to come – because only together can we make sure Canada continues to stay true to our shared values of equality, justice, and freedom.
