Mountain Range Crochet Studio
Follow me as I create art one stitch at a time! I learned how to crochet a few years ago when I discovered that I could make my own stuffed animals.
I loved what I could do with yarn, and was quickly acquiring yarn, books and patterns. Before I knew it I was learning all kinds of crochet techniques. And then I discovered Tunisian Crochet. I got more books and taught myself how to do many different stitches and techniques of Tunisian Crochet. As I learned about the art of crochet, pattern ideas started to flow. I just wish I could crochet fast
I am finally back to working on my crochet art! I have been super focused on decluttering, organizing and deep cleaning every room in our house. I just finished the office/art space and couldn’t wait to get going on this again!! I felt like I couldn’t focus on creating until my space was cleaned up. @ Downtown Kelowna
I can now share the finished crochet piece I was working on before Christmas. It was a gift for a dear friend and my friend has now received it. These are 2 of the characters from a book he wrote. The original illustration is not my own work, that was done by a talented illustrator. I am thrilled with how it turned out! Excited to get going on the next one!! @ Downtown Kelowna
Just finished this commissioned order for dragon scale fingerless gloves. Loving the colours that were chosen! These were fun to make. @ Downtown Kelowna
Getting prepared to start another piece of crochet art. I know it’s been a while since I posted anything. I have been working on getting things ready for the next few pieces I want to make. @ Downtown Kelowna
Well it has been a while since I posted anything here. I still crocheting a lot. Just finished fingerless mitts for myself using yarn my father in law brought back from Scotland for me. I’m also working on fine art crochet and should have some of those to share in the new year.
It has been a while since I posted anything on here. I have been working hard on projects and ideas behind the scenes. I am going in a bit of a different direction than originally intended, as I have been working on more artistic crochet work. This type of crochet takes a lot of time but is very enjoyable and rewarding for me.
I will hopefully have more updates in the coming weeks. There are some exciting things on the horizon, so stay tuned!
Craving something new?
Coffee, crochet and music. I can’t think of a better way to spend a cold and snowy Saturday. How are you spending your Saturday?
I have started working on my next piece of crochet art! This one is very intricate as I am using many colours and embroidery floss. I will not be sharing a lot about this piece as it is a gift and I don’t want to give too much away. So I will share more about it after the gift has been given.
Picked up some supplies for the next crochet project!!
I finished the mountain range last night! This piece is done in Tunisian crochet. Next step is to do a border and frame it so I can hang it on the wall.
I have been working hard on a new piece of crochet art. It’s close to being done, but I’m in a mess of yarn! Here’s a little preview of what I am working on.
I made a glow-in-the-dark pumpkin mandala to hang on our fence. If there is some interest I can make some to sell! 🇨🇦
Dragon Wings Shawl made with yarn that was hand dyed in the Okanagan Valley. Use the link in my profile to purchase this one-of-a-kind shawl! 🇨🇦

It doesn't get any better than this!
Finished the first draft of my design. Used double-ended Tunisian crochet to give it an interesting look. I have been trying to figure out how to crochet mountains with a purple and teal sky. The yarn and colours used for this aren’t the ones I will be using when I make the final draft. But it gives me an idea of what works and what doesn’t.
The design creation process. So many strands of yarn to manage. But I’m having fun! Now I just hope my idea will work!
The Mountain Range Crochet online store is now live! Check it out at mountain-range-crochet.myshopify.com. 🇨🇦
Having fun with my new interchangeable crochet hooks! Working on washcloths for my online store that will be opening soon!
I have closed down my store on Etsy and am creating a new online store. Here is a sneak peak at the home page! I will post the link once it is live.
Just got 2 sets of interchangeable crochet hooks in the mail! Double-ended Tunisian crochet here I come!! Ready to make some crochet magic happen. Thank you for your quick response when I asked if you had 2 sets in stock. Time to get crocheting.
Loving this colourway!! This is going to be a lovely washcloth. Getting my online store set up and having fun making items to add to it!
Hello! I just wanted to share with everyone that I am working on more items and will be posting them this week, hopefully. I am slowly learning how to use social media again after about 3 years of being offline. I am also working on a new website for my store and will update you all when it is live! Thank you for your patients and understanding as I work on figuring this all out.

Just need to finish this side and add buttons, then my Dad’s small messenger style iPad bag will be done. Thinking I might have to write up the pattern and make more like this! But with easier yarn to work with. This yarn was challenging, but I’m super happy with how it looks.
Making an iPad and accessory carry bag for my Dad. The main part of the bag is all one piece done with a Tunisian crochet pattern to make it look ribbed. Now I am making the side panels in Tunisian crochet and attaching the front and back of the bag. Took a few tries to figure out how to make this idea work and so far it’s looking great!
