We Think Outside

Elder berry syrup canning day! The kiddos measured, calculated and all worked hard! We chatted about the importance of local honey, self sustainability, using what we take and living off the land! The syrup was a huge success!

Wildcrafting kiddos! Today we brainstormed and researched Elder. We learned what we could make and use from all parts of the tree. We found and identified Elder, then harvested it's berries! Elder berry syrup is tomorrow's plan!

This is what our core crew is hoping to learn this year! Arnt they incredible human beings?!

1st day scavenger hunt was a blast! A mix of social bonding, academic literacy and real life skill critical thinking = pride and happiness!

What a kickoff to the year!! We had an amazing turn out for our AGM and then kicked off the school year with some parenting workshops and some great snacks! 2024/25 here we come!

We had an amazing summer of explore and adventure CAMPS!

We had a FANTASTIC year-end camp-out this year complete with a full turnout in attendance from our full time crew, some amazing workshops hosted by incredible people, late-night fun for both the kids and adults, kids-only tents, music. Laughter, swimming, boating, kayaking and some astounding food!

Happy Fathers Day from We Think Outside!! On Friday the kiddos made Fir Soda for their dads! The recipe was simple, the ingredients readily available and the results were beautiful! Thanks to all the amazing dads out there!!

Some fun wave play today on Lake Okanagan!

We had the honour and privilege of visiting our old base camp today. The beautiful and hisoric . We walked through the devestation, rejoicing and mourning all the memories from this beautiful place, in which we got to live and learn. Scroll to pic 5 to see what used to be their fort....We talked through emotions, held space for them, paid tribute to them and then let them go. We gave our blessing to the land to be prosperous in its healing. Thank you to Ian for letting us go out there and to the kiddos for earning the trust and respect needed to go into a dangerous space.
