Our skaters are divided into three groups:
Group 1 – is our “Fundamental Learn to Skate” class. Skaters come one night a week for 45 minutes and learn and work on the basics. Skaters join in for our mini meets but do not compete at sanctioned meets. We have a NCCP certified coach and Junior coaches that assist with this group so the coach to athlete ratio is high. minimum age: 6; skate rentals in
As we gear up for another exciting season, we are reaching out to our community with a special request. The Kelowna Speed Skating Club is in need of a dedicated treasurer to support the financial management of our club. This role is crucial for ensuring our continued success and sustainability.

📍 QUEBEC CITY! The Short Track Canada Cup Final takes place this weekend at the Centre de glaces Intact Assurance! Canada’s top skaters will battle it out for valuable rankings points, which will be used to help select the National and NextGen teams for the following season.

👏 As Carolina Hiller lit up the track in the World Championships, coach extraordinaire Chris Acton was presented her Speed Skating Canada | Patinage de vitesse Canada - Jack Walters Coach of the Year Award this weekend at the Calgary Olympic Oval! 🏆
The Jack Walters Award for Coach of the Year is presented to a coach who has demonstrated sustained leadership within the coaching environment, at either the grassroots or high performance level, along with meaningful, long-term involvement on the club, regional, provincial or national stages.
Club race night was a blast! Thank you to all our coaches, volunteers, parents, and skaters!
