As we gear up for another exciting season, we are reaching out to our community with a special request. The Kelowna Speed Skating Club is in need of a dedicated treasurer to support the financial management of our club. This role is crucial for ensuring our continued success and sustainability.

📍 QUEBEC CITY! The Short Track Canada Cup Final takes place this weekend at the Centre de glaces Intact Assurance! Canada’s top skaters will battle it out for valuable rankings points, which will be used to help select the National and NextGen teams for the following season.

Super excited seeing Coach Christine Hank lead our club’s seven skaters off to BC Winter Games tomorrow in Lhtako Quesnel, BC. Congrats to Talia Halperin, Addison Hank, Liliana Sturrock, Dylan Hughes, Xander Haaheim, Callum Stuart, and Henry Eeson.

👏 As Carolina Hiller lit up the track in the World Championships, coach extraordinaire Chris Acton was presented her Speed Skating Canada | Patinage de vitesse Canada - Jack Walters Coach of the Year Award this weekend at the Calgary Olympic Oval! 🏆

The Jack Walters Award for Coach of the Year is presented to a coach who has demonstrated sustained leadership within the coaching environment, at either the grassroots or high performance level, along with meaningful, long-term involvement on the club, regional, provincial or national stages.

Club race night was a blast! Thank you to all our coaches, volunteers, parents, and skaters!

Jumping into this weekend like….all the best to our skaters headed to Salmon Arm this weekend. Excited also to hear about Addie Hank’s youth LT Canadian Champs in Quebec!

Huge congrats to our very own Randy Sauer for being awarded the annual community sport hero award! Thank you Randy for all your volunteer dedication and support over the years.
