It's time to highlight one of our faculty members, Sarah Gumpinger, as she shares her insights on UBCO’s Management program.
What do you love most about the management programs at UBCO?
I love the blend of academic rigour and practical experience in our management program. Students engage in real-world projects, case studies, and co-op opportunities, all within a supportive community that fosters both personal and professional growth.
What has been your proudest moment teaching at UBCO?
My proudest moment was helping two students with no clear career prospects find their paths in accounting. Through mentoring and connecting them with an employer in the community, they discovered their passion and are now successful CPAs. Seeing their transformation was incredibly rewarding.
What advice would you have for a prospective student considering management programs at UBCO?
Take full advantage of the opportunities available. Engage in your classes, seek out instructor support, and get involved in student organizations. Building a strong network and gaining practical experience are key to success. Don't hesitate to reach out for guidance – the UBCO community is here to support you.
