Litia joined the Kelowna Dental Solutions team in May 2022 as a Certified Dental Assistant. She started working in the dental field over four years ago after enrolling in Okanagan College’s Dental Assisting program. Litia has since returned to Okanagan College, this time as an instructor!

From Kelowna to Texas, Hawaii and back to Kelowna, Registered Dental Hygienist Tiffany actually worked for Dr. Mark at the start of her career and feels she’s come full circle!

Fun fact: when Tiffany was growing up she had her career aspirations set on becoming a… dental hygienist! It’s true.

Meet the newest member of our team! Naomi joined the Kelowna Dental Solutions team in September as a Certified Dental Assistant.

Naomi was thrilled to land a role at Kelowna Dental Solutions because KDS treats jaw issues, working with patients to alleviate the associated pain and dysfunction. She loves seeing how people’s lives change once they no longer have to deal with constant pain including migraines.

How do you reset? Close your lips, breathe through your nose and be mindful of your posture. 🤓

Don’t skip cleaning your tongue. We recommend a tongue scraper or using the tongue cleaning attachment on your Sonicare. Start at the back (base) of the tongue and in a horizontal motion go back to front, back to front and you are finished! Why clean the tongue? The tongue harbors bacteria just like the teeth. Tongue scraping removes the bacteria, dead cells, food debris, and fungi from the surface of the tongue. Thus, it also helps in preventing the mouth from stinking!

Take time for yourself and don’t skip self care. Try to not wait until late at night to brush, floss and Waterpik. Wait until 30-45 minutes after dinner and then start your oral care routine. That way you won’t be exhausted and you are less likely to skip this important time.
