Our Story

We are two sassy, classy, and a bit smart assy friends that have a passion to build and create wood art creations for our homes and now yours!

We lived a stones throwaway from each other for four and a half years! Besides the occasional hello over the fence, we never had the chance to get to know one another. We finally connected at a play date for our children and our friendship quickly developed. We have since joked that we are soul sisters.

One day we came up with the idea to build a children's playhouse. Within a few days, we had gathered some ideas and supplies and started building. Some of our friends and family thought we were crazy, and at times we did as well, but the end result was fabulous and super fun.

After the completion of the playhouse, we had the itch to keep building and creating our own masterpeices. Before we knew it, friends and family were requesting that we build projects for them and a light bulb went off for us. Why are we not making a small business out of this? With the orders pouring in, and the kids starting school, we decided to start our on-line store, Hammers & Heels was founded between the fence of a couple of moms who are not afraid to use the power tools and take over the garage for ourselves.
