We are very happy to Welcome Eric to our Little Oak Team. He will be offering Virtual Psychotherapy services.
Hi!
My name Eric and I am psychotherapist. Basically, I am here to work with you to get to the roots of what is standing in your way from achieving your goals. We do this through a combination of conversation and equipping you with new tools to make different choices for yourself. What you bring to the table is the power of your lived experience and your intuition.
The core values I encourage us to work with are integrity, collaboration, and commitment.
If you would like to know more, the best thing is to book a “discovery call” through LITTLE OAK WELLNESS where you can ask all the questions you need to. You can email me at [email protected] or leave me a message at the clinic. At the same time, you can see my availability for paid sessions through the centre's webpage.
Really looking to connecting when you feel the time is right.

So very grate to be celebrating 4 years of private practice. Thank you to Cindl and Little Oak Wellness Center (we share the same special day!) for giving me a space to build my practice.
Kenora has been such a wonderful city to lay roots and grow. I look forward to the future as I exit the growing pains of practice and forge ahead towards new adventures! The roots of a tree symbolize origin, beginnings, and the past; the trunk is the major qualities of our personalities, the branches and leaves are the fruit that breed results.
Happy Birthday!

Here are some photos from the event of myself with some of the allied health providers and public healthcare offices. I didn't get pictures with everyone who works in healthcare but next time we hope too! We have to represent for the future generation.
So much fun last night at the Kinsmen Santa Claus Parade! A huge thank you to the organizers and well done to everyone who had floats! It was so wonderful to be apart of the Parade and to see so many cheerful spirits. Merry Christmas and happy holidays from Little Oak Wellness!
Ingredients
1 cup dried red lentils
3 cups water
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
2 tbsp coconut oil
6 scallions, green part only, chopped
1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and grated
1 inch fresh turmeric, peeled and grated (or 2 tsp ground turmeric)
2 tsp black mustard seeds
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tbsp ground coriander
2 tsp paprika
½ tsp ground cardamom (or 2 cardamom pods)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
4 large tomatoes, diced
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 cups canned coconut milk
1-2 cups water (add less for a thicker consistency)
Juice of 1 lime
Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped
2 cups cooked jasmine or basmati rice
Method
Place the red lentils, water and apple cider vinegar in a large bowl. Soak for 12-24 hours then drain and rinse well. Drain again.
In a large pan, heat the coconut oil and add the scallions, ginger and fresh turmeric. Stir for a few minutes then add the mustard seeds. Stir until they start to pop, then add the cumin, coriander, paprika, cardamom, salt and pepper. If using ground turmeric, add at this time. Stir for a few seconds until the spices release their flavours.
Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, coconut milk, water and soaked red lentils. Cook for 30 minutes or until the lentils are cooked through and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
Stir in the lime juice. Taste and season accordingly.
Divide the rice and dahl between 4 bowls and top with chopped cilantro or parsley.
Pea protein as an additive to processed foods is by no means a new thing. Legumes have starches and proteins that have powerful emulsifying properties for fat and water in a variety of processed foods including:
- Meat products (e.g. sausages, sliced meat products, meatballs)
- Plant-based meat alternatives
- Milk and dairy alternatives
- As well soups, sauces, cereals, baking mixes, baked goods and gluten free foods.
Peas belong to the legume family, which also includes peanuts, soya, chickpeas, lentils, beans, lupin and fenugreek. Outside of the top food allergies (i.e., milk, egg, wheat, soy, peanut, tree nuts, fish, shellfish), allergies to other legumes including peas are thought to be the next most common allergy. People are usually not allergic to all legumes, but allergy to more than one legume often occurs.
Allergies or sensitivities to peas or other legumes such as soya, means it is important to check the labels of processed foods in the diet. Pea proteins offer a great potential to improving our intake of non-animal based proteins. Knowing how the sausage gets made though is important to making sure you are not consuming allergens you are sensitive too.
A must try for someone who is looking for something savoury in the morning to go with their oatmeal. This dish is a perfect blend of carbs, fats and protein that will leave your belly satisfied. It is also not a bad way to start the day!
Cook Vegetables & Egg
1) Heat a nonstick pan with 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil over medium-high heat. Add vegetables and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until they soften. Spoon vegetables over cooked oats. Reduce heat to medium.
2) Add remaining 1/2 teaspoon of oil and fry egg. Cook until the whites are no longer translucent and serve over oatmeal.
3) Top with chopped walnuts, green onions, and za’atar, if you like.
Elevate your morning routine with a breakfast that is good and good for you! I absolutely love this breakfast as it is very filling and gives me the energy I need to get through the morning.
It takes as long to make in the morning as it takes to fry an egg and its the perfect way to get in a happy dose of cheese for the day!
Big News!
Little Oak Wellness is getting a facelift!
As you may have noticed, there is a bit of construction happening at the clinic right now. While it looks a mess from the outside, I assure you, it is the same warm, welcoming, and nurturing atmosphere inside (except a bit of noise).
We will remain open throughout construction to see patients and for supplement pick ups.
Call the office to book an appointment or book online!
