This AMAZING gal, our wonderful manager Lyn Dawn, has been busy working wonders in our chalet!! Ripping up floors and carpets, pulling nails and staples, painting walls and halls, replacing flooring she’s been doing it all!! A HUGE shout out and THANK YOU for all your hard work Lyndsey!! It looks AWESOME!! You are the best!!!

Please share to spread the word that blatant disregard for our little ski club is really heartbreaking. Some time in the past week a group of atv riders did significant damage in the parking lots and on the ski runs. We don't mind people using the property to hike and walk dogs but abuse like this is really disappointing.

Another Big Thank you going out to building supplies for providing us with subfloor, screws and caulking for our Mt Evergreen kitchen floor renovations!
Time and Time again our community steps in to help out!
As a “not for profit” volunteer board run ski hill, these acts of community kindness are what keeps us up and running!! We in return can then continue to offer a community based, family centred, source of fun and healthy outdoor recreation available to all!!

We cannot conclude our season without acknowledging the contributions of Dave at Boardanyone Snow Skate Wake SUP!!
Every year Dave runs our Dawn of the Shred freestyle competition, he also sells jackets at the store and donates a percentage of proceeds to our hill.
This year Dave set us up with a new fleet of NITROsnowboards/ boots and Volcom ski instructor jackets for our ski/ boarding school and Rental shop with the generous funding we receive from the Kenora Kinsmen Club!
Dave also runs awesome summer events and collaborates with Tammy Bush and the Canadian Mental Health Association - Kenora Branch to host the Sam Bush Memorial skateboard competition as well as Triple PLAY Kenora to host other awesome skateboard events in our surrounding communities!
We are so very fortunate to have a number of Kenora Businesses that are there each and every year to support our community!! Today we thank our friends at B1!!

Skateboarding PSA ! Are you someone interested in skateboarding for the first time? A parent who wants to buy their kid a skateboard and unsure where to start and even more unsure how to safely show them how to use a skateboard so they can progress and have fun without coming home frustrated saying skateboarding is too hard? Maybe just someone who started years ago and wants to get back into it? We got you covered. When you buy a new complete skateboard package from us we offer a free 1hr beginner lesson from one of our experienced team riders. We are here to keep EVERYONE stoked on skating! Stay tuned for more skateboarding events this summer !

This years ski school would not have been possible without our core group of dedicated Mt Evergreen Ski and Snowboard instructors, both new and returning!
2023/24 blasted us with many unprecedented obstacles and challenges this season!! However, with some creative problem solving and brainstorming our Mt Evergreen Team managed to oversee and teach 110 plus students this year!
Thanks to each and everyone of you, for all of your efforts at keeping things fun, safe and for providing a great learning environment for our kiddos, it was appreciated beyond words!!

A special thanks is in order to the members of our team who keep all these programs running!

To our incredible Coach H, (AKA Laurin Hummelbrunner) who continues to show up year after year to volunteer his time and expertise, to teach his “ Learn to Ski Fast” kiddos! A Huge THANK YOU!!!

To our two Amazing Head Snowboard coaches Steve and Jennifer Marquis, who continue to volunteer their time and energy to building a strong Snowboard program and community at MT Evergreen! A huge THANK YOU!! 👍

To Charlotte Caron, who has been with us for the last 15+ years, showing up each season to volunteer her time, and having taught several generations of skiers in the process!
Not like she doesn’t have enough to do in her spare time, she also has stepped up this winter to volunteer her time time for Ski Patrol as well!!

To our Awesome Jumps and Bumps Freestylerz Head coach Jarod Bachinsky a huge THANK YOU for the countless hours of input you have put into building our existing Jumps and Bumps program and our new up and coming Freestylerz fall and winter programs, we wouldn’t have a program without your dedication to the love of coaching and Freestyle Skiing!
A huge THANK YOU for also showing up to design and create our awesome Terrain Parks with your Dedicated Terrain Park building crew who show up time and time again, , Samuel Ehmann , Jacob Roberts, Ehmann, ArielDucharmme, Jackson Clark, and Caleb Marquis!!
This winter was full of non stop setbacks but you guys and one amazing gal, kept at it and pulled off an incredible terrain park!! You all showed up in the freezing cold, pouring rain and kept building it again and again!!

Finally, last but not least, A huge thank you to Breiter who grabbed the reigns, ran with it, and took on the monumental task of coordinating and running over 100 kids in a constantly changing and challenging season!
I really don’t know what we would have done without you! Your cool head, positive energy and beautiful smile made for one of our best seasons ever!!

There is so much more that goes on behind the scenes to running a not for profit, volunteer run ski hill than simply showing up and buying a lift ticket and throwing on a pair of skis!
Hours and Hours of planning, hard work, coordinating, scheduling, meetings, hands on work and labour go into trying to make things run as smoothly as possible! For the majority of us there is no pay cheque, but a smile and THANK YOU go a long way! 😊
And let’s be honest, this year was anything but smooth, in fact, it has never been harder! Lack of snow, lack of funds, lack of volunteers, lack of a running lift, but none of it brought us to a stop!
Together as a TEAM we did it!!
Because, there was NEVER a lack of HEART ❤️ ❤️❤️
So to those of you who continue to show up , do your best each and every year, with a smile on your face, THANK YOU!!

Mt Evergreen is super excited to “ GET TO WORK”after receiving $100,000 for some much needed upgrades and enhancements to our hill!!

Last week, the City of Kenora presented Mt.Evergreen Ski Club with a cheque for $100,000 from the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) to support multiple enhancements at the ski hill.

The MAT is a visitor tax collected on short-term accommodations in the City of Kenora and is used to enable tourism and economic development projects in the community.

Thank you to the volunteer group at Mount Evergreen for all of their hard work and dedication in creating an amazing experience at our local ski hill!

Such an AMAZING Last day of skiing at Mt Evergreen! Thanks to everyone who came out, it was so much fun to hang out with the kids and be part of everyone’s laughter and smiles!!👍😁

LAST DAY!! The groomer was out early doing the best with what we have! All runs groomed and should be nice and soft by noonish once the sun has warmed it up a bit. Come on out and enjoy the end to one crazy season and grab a treat from BeaverTails !

Well Folks tomorrow is our Last Day of Skiing!
Come on out at 1:00 to join us for a fun balloon relay race, teams of two, followed by our “need for speed” slalom race, and finishing off with our “ how low can you go” Limbo!!!

Hi Folks, we are gearing up for our last weekend!! Lots of fun activities being planned! Downhill relay races, limbo, and Friday night dress up as your favourite musician band!!
Unfortunately due to lack of volunteers we will not be able to host a slush pit this year!

Mt Evergreen will be open Sunday March 17th!! 10am-4pm
All runs serviced by Skyline lift have been well groomed!!

Our volunteers have been at it since 8am and they are close to being done 'digging it up and grinding it up'. Left side of the pics shows the snow after the we have backed up the runs twice. Right side shows the end result after running the tiller over it twice. Lots of time and fuel expense so we hope to see you out here Sunday to enjoy our hard work!

Mt Evergreen is very excited and incredibly grateful to have been selected by NOHFC as one of the recipients of two economic development projects in Kenora!
As a Not for Profit organization run completely by volunteers, these funds will greatly assist in helping us upgrade our chalet and operations facilities! Having this support is vital to continuing to build and serve not only our ski hill but our community at large!
