Small Bathroom Reno.

This was a little job with replacing everything but the shower/tub install. The toilet was replaced with a high efficiency toilet. A floating vanity, mirror and new light fixture were installed. The old vinyl floor was replaced with tile and a little tile trim flare. The wall colour stayed the same, but did get a refresh coat of Dulux Diamond.

The little bathroom did well and cleaned up nicely with the new upgrades. The owners are also very happy with the results.

Training day(s)….

Little gig here, where a renovation/carpentry contractror was looking to add another notch in the belt with epoxy floor systems.

We cover the basic foundation of installs including tools, surface prep, crack filling, priming, top coating, flake broadcasting, and clear coating. I also like to discuss problems and past issues so my customers don’t have the same experiences.

We used PPG’s new flooring line. Very impressed with the self levelling top coat.

If your looking into this this type of work, don’t buy into franchises and firms as your limited in your product selection. Learn a series of materials and keep your eggs in different baskets… and call me to train you!

Pulled off this two storey, three bedroom home in two weeks. The scope of work was to repair/repaint walls and ceilings. Trim was on an as needed bases. The stairs were a key in the recounting process. Fortunately I ran into trade delays on another project and was able to do this job prior to the customer moving in.

This job was a ceiling and wall repair/repaint, as well as revisiting the stairs and exterior door in high performance coatings.

I must say, clean ceilings make a huge difference in the end result of your project.

A little more sub work with a local contractor, working on a basement finish. We had to finish around 850 sq feet of space which includes a bedroom, bathroom, rec room and storage.

This was a pretty straight forward go where I help the contractor get to a point where they complete the remainder of the project on their own. I assist with planning and bulk of the build.

Some hick ups with trade and supply, but we pulled off another awesome living space!

Some sub contracting work conducted with a local renovation contractor over the summer months.

This was a very unique opportunity to work on an old church that had been converted into a residential space, that needed some improvements.

We tore out the upper loft walls for an open concept look. Ceilings and walls needed to be addressed as well as a very large failing paint issue… never apply water based paints over aged alkyd paints.

This was a challenging project but the end results were amazing.

We recently had the opportunity with the City of Belleville to apply a specialty coating that offers preservation and protection to these wonderful pieces of art.

This is such an amazing idea where they have taken sea containers and converted to small business in beautiful Zwick’s Park. Artist were called in to do some amazing art work on these containers. We were called in to apply PSX 700 A clear coat to protect and preserve the art work.

Calling all skills!

What an amazing project to work on! I went into this call where the customer wanted to simply paint the floor joist white to offer a better look to their office space environment. In conversation, we determined that the money spent doing this would not be worth the end result. We decided that a partial finish of the basement was the way to go, with continuation later on.

Customer ex-SPEC-tations:

Finish allocated area with electrical, drywall, faux finish and metallic epoxy floor.

Ceilings painted with Dulux Hi Build ceiling flat - like icing on a cake!

Walls faux finish using Dulux Lifemaster in dual colour configurations. Clear coated with the new Dulux low sheen eggshell anti stain.

Floor coated in PPG PMC self leveling primer/surfacer, followed by PPG PMC self leveling clear with metallic additives in dual colour configuration. All topcoated with PPG PSX 700 A Clear Coat. This is THE most solid epoxy floor system in this area of Kingston, hands down!

The end result… above and beyond the customer’s expectations.

I'm just floored....

Did a 401 tour laying down some epoxy floor systems with my fellow flooring contractor.

We had to do a epoxy/flake/urethane system for a Youth Outreach program located in Cornwall.

The floor was caked in several types of carpet and tile glue from over the years. We also had to contend with an old integrated cabling system that was built into the floor.

The grinding was followed by crack and pit filling as well as concrete repairs and filling of floor cabling system for a smooth and seamless substrate. We followed up with a two component water base epoxy primer. Once set, we came back in with the 100% solids and broadcasted flake. Last step was the clear urethane application to seal the deal.

The exterior patio was a similar system.

Thank you Mr. Contractor Sir for having me out. We always seem to learn something new, or spot a ripple in the Universe... one or the other, always a good time!

From what the floor once was to what the floor is now...

Quick residential repaint. Simple application of Dulux Lifemaster Egg tinted to Barley Beige for a new environmental feel. In addition to the paint application, we also caulked baseboards, trim and crown moulding where needed at no cost. Had some help from my son on this one as well, trade training! A great opportunity for him to start to learn the basics of paint application. Totally forgot the before shots , so we get mid and after shots!

This job turned out very well. The tenant and property owner were thrilled with this home conversion. Thank you having us in!

Serious sealing! A recent ni****ne stain seal job. This is likely one of the worst ni****ne damaged houses I have ever seen. Clearly we know what had to be done....

Some personal projects completed. Posting these up for other project ideas and references.

Cover up the orange with a fresh coat of Lifemaster Matt tinted to UFO for walls and Lifemaster white semi for doors and trim. Trying to create a new, mature feel to my Son’s room. So far so good!

Did a small conversion to our basement stair case by implementing a bit of a pantry. The shelves, brackets and pan hooks are all custom made. We decided to paint the stair black to help hide dirt and tannin bleed from the wood knots... I know I could have stain blocked knots, but I didn’t, black will hide this stain. Used Dulux SuperMatt for walls, Dulux Diamond for trim and PPG 4216 for stairs.

Epoxy Holidays! We did the Kingston Dodge Service floor durning holiday shut down and prior to lockdown.

This was a testing project as we had to remove the existing coating which was well bonded in some areas and lifting in others.

System spec was a full removal of existing coating as well as profiling the concrete for re-application, crack and pit filling, priming, epoxy and flake, polyespartic non slip clear followed by a high wear non slip urethane in satin sheen. Turned out well!

Squeez a little one in! Backspash install for this customer looking to continue with ongoing renovations and upgrades. This customer recently rebuilt their kitchen... yes all the cabinetry, very talented... but wanting to continue upgrading the look.

This backspash colour reminds me of our beautiful Limestone City, looks great with the floor colour and natural colour wood of the cabinets!

Interior conversion. What a cool project to be on! This is a solid, "they don't build'em like they use to" type house located in the Williamsville area in Kingston, Ontario. The customer was ready to do a full transformation of the colour scheme to update and modernize the families living space.

Repair water damaged ceilings in Living room and Kitchen as well as cracks and holes. Ceiling finish is Dulux ceiling flat.

Patch, prep and paint walls using Dulux Lifemaster Zero VOC 100% acrylic paint. Prep, prime and topcoat trim and doors and dining room cabinets with Dulux Diamond Pearl.

Customer had a couple of special requests - to have fireplace vanity painted to match trim colour. To have french door substrate scratches sanded out as well as varnish alligatering sanded out, prime converted and top coated. Both pieces were spray applied.

Small bathroom reno and re-paint. Cool little project here. The customer was looking to have their basement apartment prepped and repainted but....

Prep and paint walls, doors and trim all same colour and sheen. Materials used were Dulux Lifemaster eggshell.

Repair bedroom door back.

Bathroom needed old vanity trim and floor removed. Had to retrofit in reclaimed vanity customer purchased. Install new flooring and trim. Paint ceiling, trim and walls.

The customer was looking to update the environment and make it a warmer, more comfortable living space for someone.

Kitchen finish renovation. Great project here! Love this amazing transformation to this beautiful open concept kitchen. The customer knew what she wanted but needed some third party guidance and narrowing down styles and colour schemes.

Project exSPECtations...

Microwave slot to be transformed into a custom wine rack - removed lip from cabinet, recapped. Made custom metal wine rack insert as per customers spec.

Backspash removal and reinstall - also removed and covered over a phone jack from wall.

Cabinet doors had to be repaired on this project prior to refinishing.

New counter tops - this was subbed out due to the specialization on installing granite.

Refinishing of kitchen cabinet doors, boxes and island. Materials used were Gemini precat lacquer primer and satin topcoat in a stunning modern white.

Interior paint - Dulux Lifemaster eggshell for walls, Dulux Ceiling flat white .... sharp, new modern look! Bright and awake! Awesome colour scheme and accent, followed by new decor...stunning transformation!

Kitchen finish reno. This was a fun kitchen reno.
Project expSPECtations...

Relocate microwave over stove - had to raise cupboard box and install electrical outlet.

New counter top(s) - went with a butcher block style for the island and small section between stove and fridge.

Dress up window - this is a focal point so we wanted to take the look to the next level with a new cill, crown and faux stain glass.

Back splash - removal of old and install of new. This was a game changer that helped tie in the full colour scheme.

Paint - Ceiling and walls - Only the best from Dulux Paints - Diamond interior eggshell and Ceiling flat high build. Crisp and clean!

Kitchen Cabinet door and box refinishing - from honey oak to modern white with a tie of grey on the island. Materials used were the Gemini precat lacquer primer and satin top coat. Chemically engineered for this environment. All doors were sprayed for optimal finish results!

Kingston Dodge wash bay. This floor was around 1500 sq ft. Again, I was called in for application assistance. We had some work to do in regards to filling cracks. Nevertheless the project turned out well. We used the epoxy crack and pit filler followed by the water based epoxy primer. The topcoat is the 100% solids with flake broadcasted in. We then made a return trip to apply a clear non slip urethane.

Five Rivers grow op. This project was approximately 6000 sq ft. I was called in by the contractor help apply epoxy crack and pit filler, two component epoxy primer followed by the 100% solids epoxy top coat. This project posed difficulties in moisture content in the concrete, large crack and pits as well as rough repaired areas. We also had to apply coving to the walls in the grow rooms. Cool project but had to be diligent with Government requirements of the finish floor for cannabis growing facilities. No I didn't get any free samples....

Scholastics warehouse floor located in Brockville. Install assistance with local flooring contractor. The floor size was approximately 18,000 sq ft. I was pulled in to help apply two component epoxy crack and pit filler, followed by two component water based epoxy primer, top coated with two component 100% solids self levelling epoxy through National Polymers.
