A photo exhibit opening in Kingston recalls how that community reacted, and responded locally to the global COVID-19 crisis

Come hear stories of resilience during hard times in the form of a photovoice exhibition! Photovoice uses pictures taken by research participants to tell stories about their experience.
This project, Families Building Healthy Communities, will open to the public at the following locations/dates:
-Aug 19th: Kingston Public Farmer’s Market @8:30am-2:00pm
-Aug 20th: Memorial Centre Farmer’s Market @9:00am-2:00pm
-Aug 21st – 23rd: Boys and Girls Club
-Aug 25th: KFPL Central Branch @10:00am-3:00pm
-Aug 28th – Sept. 1st: Kingston Community Health Centre

I-CREAte Kingston has been working hard over the last year to hear stories of resilience from families in KFL&A. The I-CREAte team came together in the last few months to look across all 9 families involved in the first project. The Indigenous Diabetes Health Circle, Queens University and the Indigenous Health Council are hosting a Knowledge Circle on Sunday October 3, 1:00-4:00pm at Lake Ontario Park.

The event will honour the voices of the Indigenous community shared during a recent study - the Cost of COVID.
