Be safe , April 8th solar eclipse.
Are you eclipse-ready?
On April 8, 2024, our region will experience a total solar eclipse. Whether you plan to view the eclipse or not, you should make plans to be . During the eclipse, the moon will pass between the Earth and the Sun, casting a shadow on the Earth’s surface, turning day into night. Consider modifying travel and activities to allow for the loss of daylight and possible increased traffic before and after the event.
If planning to travel to areas where the total solar eclipse will occur, please remember driving safety tips:
• Do not stop on the shoulders.
• Any photographs should be taken in a safe area, far away from traffic.
• Turn on headlights in dark conditions.
• Watch for pedestrians.

No matter what your age it is important to know what to do in case of an emergency. We’ve designed several courses specifically for children to help empower them in an emergency and give them confidence should they be left alone, or in charge of other children. St. John Ambulance also offers a selection of non-certificate courses for adults who are interested in learning lifesaving basics without attending a full course.
SJA is proud to bring you our enhanced New Parent Workshop course, now available online. This non-certificate workshop focuses on accident and injury prevention, first aid, choking and CPR techniques used on newborns, infants and young kids.
