Zap Records
New & used records, CDs & music collectables. Est. 1991.
Nice way to spend a Saturday, shelving new CDs and listening to Santana/Quicksilver/Jefferson Airplane. Feeling the San Francisco vibes.
This is the first batch of titles that I've been cleaning up for sale in the shop. There are so many interesting records in this collection and many of them I don't ever see come through. I am still in the process of pricing these and grading them so I hope to have them out over the next couple of days.

One of the reasons that I enjoy buying records is that I come across unique finds such as this item. Truly unique packaging designed by Robert Rauschenberg for this, the quintessential "Speaking in Tongues" album from who else but The Talking Heads. This is only the second time I have stumbled across this gem and it brings me great joy share it with all of you.
Teaser alert! More to come...stay tuned!!

What shows are you looking forward to in Kingston?
I moved here for the music scene and have been able to fill my calendar with great shows for the last 33 years!
CDs are a budget friendly and space saving way to appreciate your favourite artists and discover new ones! If you collect them you probably know that many new CDs are basically the same price as they were in the 90s! π
I remember when CDs topped vinyl, right about when I opened my record store in 1991 ππ I still love them and collect them and, glad so many of you have rediscovered the CD format!
Support local! These two want you to check out the new video/stream from PEACH GINGER TEA.
Our first customer of the day made the Saturday display - vinyl that he grew up listening to with his dad or with art that captured the time, and a few of his own faves.
Thanks Scott!
Which recommendations would you vouch for from his picks?
Recently purchased a collection of mint condition blues vinyl. Awesome selection. Many more not pictured here. C'mon by the shop and see for yourself. robertcrayband
Promenade is a go. C'mon by while the rain is holding off.
Ana Black were possibly Kingston's finest hair metal band. Rock solid vocal performance from front man Mick Scott as well as an impressive duel guitar tandem of Dave Frood and Christien Hanthorn. Also featured Dave Daynes (bass) & Thom Frood (drums). This is their one and only album "She's a Tease" from 1987.
I do love repurchasing records that I sold long ago. Judging by the sticker and the price I'd say that I had previously sold this about 30 years ago. I immediately recognized my scrawl. I am so easily amused π.
We like to keep prices low around here, but sometimes knock down the price to keep titles moving. Check out the deals at the counter when you stop by next!
