Academy of Learning College - Kingston loves getting to know our community partners and students, so we thought, why not celebrate one of our favourite holidays (yes, it IS a holiday) with the people we care about?
Since we love "spooky season", we decided to open our doors for an Open "Haunted" House. On Thursday, October 26th, the college will be opening its doors to show how fun it can be laugh at your fears, particularly if you're a little nervous at the thought of going back to school.
Not only will we have a full offering of treats, but there will also be tricks for those of you who have an interest in all things paranormal π»π.
We are lucky enough to have two wonderful ladies join us for the event. One is a psychic who will be giving readings on site, and the other is a spiritual medium who will be giving a presentation on how she uses her mediumship gifts to provide healing, guidance, and alleviate negative emotions that tend to keep us down. Not just that, but if spirit is in the mood to join us, she'll be relaying messages from beyond. Grandma? Is that YOU?
If you have a paranormal experience you'd like to share, please send it in an email to [email protected]. We'd love to make a compilation of creepy tales from those of you who wish to tell you story. No names will be used, but we thought it could be an amazing collection of stories and WE ARE HERE FOR IT. Simply state in the subject line "I Had An Experience" and send it in. Deadline for submission will be October 20, 2023.

Lovely words from a lovely student: I was a social service worker who was starting to feel burnt out and wanted a different career path. I decided to take Medical Office Administration diploma program at AOLCC and could not have had a better experience. I had the most amazing Learning Coach, Melanie Wright, whom I could talk to on my bad days and communicate where or when I was struggling through my course. The thing with online learning is - LIFE HAPPENS! People get sick, have family troubles and so much more. Which I think is the best part because the teachers care about YOU, and your success in the course and want you to reach your end goal. For me, online learning is my favourite way to learn. Sometimes you really understand the course content and can breeze through it, without having to sit through lectures in a classroom setting, making it hard to have a job and complete homework at the same time. When you do struggle with course content and you need more help you have 3 options, which I think is incredible: email, phone call, or go to the college. I am so thankful for all the hard work Melanie Wright has put into contributing to my future success and I could not have picked a better college to be apart of.
