The Grand River Friendship Society (GRFS) was founded in 2005 in Kitchener as a non-profit charity that engages with education and community events in the KW Region.

We came together with valuable members of our community and performed a beautiful night accompanied by Traditional Turkish music. As GRFS, we would like to thank the .ca organization for their preparation of the night. We would like to see you among us in new events.

It is with great honor that we invite you to the profoundly impactful exhibition in , Un-Muted; The Silent Voices of Social Genocide. This exhibition shines a light on the stories of marginalized and persecuted individuals in Turkey, featuring personal belongings, artworks created by unjustly imprisoned individuals, and various artifacts symbolizing resilience and hope. Having toured various locations in the United States, the exhibition now seeks to share these poignant narratives with you, our esteemed guests.

Today, a ceremony was held to present the donation cheque to the Canadian Red Cross. The funds were collected from a fundraising initiative organized by the Community Kitchen Co-operative of K-W, KW VegFest, and the IDI-KW / Grand River Friendship Society (GRFS), with the generous assistance of the owners of Queen Shawarma Turkish Cuisine. The donations will be used to aid the earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria.
We would like to express our gratitude to Mr. Berry Vrbanovic (Mayor of Kitchener), Mrs. Dorothy McCabe (Mayor of Waterloo), Mr. Mike Morrice (MP Kitchener—Center), and all other participants for their valuable contributions.
