The has pulled out of Capital Pride because of a pro-Palestinian statement made by Pride. This betrayal of Palestinian and q***r community members is so shocking and harmful that I’m struggling to find the words. Please know that you’re not alone. Other peoples’ hate does not define you. You are loved and seen. You will find a community that appreciates you and protects you. This is your destiny. I’m so sorry.

Pictured is a post from Beisan’s (much more active) twitter account: To all the Palestinian and LGBTQIA+ folks in the : I see you.

I am so sorry that you have been betrayed in this way. I promise you that there’s a whole world out there that loves and appreciates you in all your wholeness and beauty. Please don’t let their hate define you.

Kitchener Centre’s new MPP thought meeting with Canada’s largest and most vile Israeli lobby group, CIJA, was appropriate and correct.

This photo was taken on the same day that Israel killed over a hundred starving Palestinians in Gaza who were only looking for food. I am honestly horrified by this decision, it is a slap in the face to every person of conscience in Kitchener. We are a diverse city with so many Arab, Muslim, Palestinian, Black, Indigenous, refugees, young people, etc. who want no part in condoning or looking the other way while an entire people is enthnically cleansed.

Shame on you, Aislinn, for meeting with a group of genocide advocates as one of your first acts in office. I was right to not trust you.

I’m proud to launch this project today. Antipalestinianracism.com aims to provide accessible and effective information about Anti-Palestinian Racism and how it affects diaspora Palestinians. Getting more awareness about the definition and manifestations of APR is the first step of many.

“If I must die” by Palestinian poet, writer, and teacher Refaat Alareer.

He was killed today by an Israeli air strike on his sister’s home, along with his sister, her four children, and his brother.

It’s keffiyeh day every day when you’re Palestinian. I love the print of our people. It’s unmatched.

One day soon, Palestinians will be better known for our deep capacity to love and nurture, rather than our capacity to survive and resist oppression.

A few pictures from my camera roll over the past 25 days. It’s hard to wrap my head around everything that is happening, that life goes on while lives end, and people can justify the worst of humanity so easily. There have been happy moments interspersed but I can talk about those when the genocide of Palestinians is finally over. Sorry this isn’t a helpful or especially lucid post, I’m not at my best.

Opinion | Sexual abuse survivors forgotten in school board debates 02/22/2023

I wrote this short opinion piece for the Waterloo Region Record about the alarming anti-trans and fear-based campaigns happening at the Waterloo Region District School Board and school boards across the country.

If you want to support the victims of sexual abuse in this community, then you should start by supporting the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region or your local SASC. Point finale.

Opinion | Sexual abuse survivors forgotten in school board debates If you want to protect victims at any age from sexual abuse, the first thing you must do is make sure that the boys and men in your life are not abusers, writes Beisan Zubi

Thank you so much to the for nominating me for young professional of the year! 🙏🏽🙋🏽‍♀️📊

This is the second time I’ve received this recognition, but this time it is for the consulting and training business that I own and started what feels like a lifetime ago but was only 2019– which is such a special and meaningful milestone to me.

Congrats to all the other nominees! I’m looking forward to celebrating with you all in March!

Ten years ago in a crowded basement bar, I met a very kind fellow. I think about him often, and hope he’s doing well.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! I hope you’re surrounded with love, community and comfort. ❤️🎅🏽🙏🏽

This is a series of photos of sunset on November 13-14 in Point Pelee/Leamington, Ontario. I have never seen a sunset like this, it looked like an explosion hovering in the sky. It kind of reminded me of the movie Independence Day 🫣👽

The first night it was so weird to see in Leamington at about 5:30pm that I pulled over and took pictures (photos 3 and 4 in this series). The next night I went to Point Pelee National Park West Beach because I didn’t believe it would happen again and took the first two photos in this series.

The park attendees didn’t know if this phenomenon has a name, but didn’t seem as weirded out by it as I was. But do you see that?? Why is it floating like that?

Please educate me! Cc .canada thank you, Osiris willing

Free Palestine, today and forever!

🚩 content warning: war, death

Israel has been bombing the Gaza Strip for over 24 hours. There are at least 25 dead so far, including at least six children and a mother who was killed on her way to her son’s wedding. At least three family homes were targeted, and Israel is showing no signs of slowing down, in fact they have called up over 20,000 reserve troops indicating they’re only getting started.

As Canadians, we have the power to compel our government to act. To hold Israel accountable. To create consequences for these horrors. I’m asking you today to do something, say something. Don’t let the massacres of Palestinians go unnoticed, don’t dehumanize us further.

Please take a moment to contact and any other political leader that might listen to you, to tell them enough is enough.

When I was in high school, I never could have imagined representation like this. It’s so meaningful to me that I get to be part of normalizing Palestinian identities and also to create a win for collective action from young people. So proud, so excited to do this work.

Thank you , the admin at Marc Garneau CI, the Equity team at the TDSB and all the others who demanded that anti-Palestinian racism be named and addressed. Let’s do this!

Today is and it’s on all of us cis people — not just today, but EVERY DAY — to make sure we are creating safe spaces for trans and non-binary people.

This means changing our language to remove unnecessarily gendered terms, to make sure bathrooms and change rooms don’t become places of harm and exclusion, that our politics don’t rely on heteronormative, cisnormative, transexclusionary biases, and that we protect trans people and trans kids especially with all the fire and passion we have inside us.

Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Gender non binary people are people. It’s really not rocket science.
