I thought I would reintroduce myself so you know who is on the other end of the phone!

I’m Lorien, and I’ll be running the Seniors’ Centre Without Walls Program. When I call you, or you call in to our weekly social groups I’ll be facilitating all those fun programs:)

Prior to operating Active Caregiving Inc, I worked in a Seniors Day Program for 9 years, so I love running rec programs and I’m so excited to offer this over-the-phone feature to seniors in the Waterloo Region and Wellington County.

The Seniors’ Centre Without Walls Program is for all seniors, if you are unable to leave the house, can’t afford services, or are in the hospital, give us a call, and just hang out, listen, or participate, whatever your comfort level is, I will honour it! Think of SCWW as a podcast you can participate in!

I want to reassure you that there will be no background noise, I will speak very clearly, and there will be simple prompts to get conversation moving. The only technology you are required to know is how to answer and hold the telephone. If calling in and entering a passcode is overwhelming, call or email me your number ahead of time and I will call you!

I’m excited to meet other seniors in the community and hopefully you can also forge some lasting connections amongst each other!

July program schedule for Seniors’ Centre Without Walls. Programs begin July 22nd. Call in the day of, or email [email protected] ahead of time and leave your name and number and I’ll call you in. This program is free for seniors aged 55+, all you need is a regular phone!

The Good Companions Seniors' Centre

Our wellness program helps homebound older adults connect with peers through interactive phone discussions so they can feel a renewed sense of purpose.

🤗We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with The Good Companions Seniors' Centre, a not-profit seniors' centre in Ottawa to bring you the Seniors' Centre Without Walls (SCWW) Program!

This innovative program funded by the Ontario Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility is designed to keep our senior community connected and socially engaged and supported, all from the comfort of their own homes.

This FREE service offers a range of over the phone services like group activites, social groups, and even educational talks over the phone!

This program has run throughout Canada for three years and has proven to be a huge success.

Active Caregiving's aim is to prevent seniors' social isolation, create access to social services and improve the wellbeing of our cherished senior community.

I will provide our activity calender soon! If you would like to join a call, I just need your number and Ill call you in. Easy! Fun! And Free!
