Workout Wednesday is all the Abs

The hot weather is here and some of you may be thinking.... gotta get those abs ready for the beach/pool? First of all, you should never think you need to get your body ready for any particular season or occasion ... loving your body and feeling comfortable in your own skin is what is most important.
No matter what time of year it is, you shouldn’t just want abs in the summer but all year round!
Here are some exercises for you for your next workout.

Weighted crunches – modify without using a weight
Russian Twist – modify with feet planted on the floor and no added weight
Bicycles – modify with feet on the floor and just raise one leg up at a time and meet the opposite elbow
Lying Leg Lifts – modify by raising one leg up at a time

I have shown 10 of each exercise but go for 3 rounds and if you want to push it, add more reps to 15 and add an extra round!

Equalizer Bar Push Ups Push ups Is an awesome upper body strengthening exercise. Whether you are using equalizer bars or not, you are still using and recruiting the same muscles but just in a different way with your body position. Equalizer bars are a great tool to use to practice and strengthen your muscles in a different way. Having to hold yourself up with your feet challenges you more through your core and upper body strength. Push ups can be done without the bars and with your hands on the floor and modified on your knees. Strengthen your chest, triceps, shoulders and core muscles! Lets see your push ups! Equalizer Bar Pull Ups Pull ups are an overall awesome upper body strengthening exercise. Whether you are using equalizer bars or just a bar, you are still using and recruiting the same muscles but just in a different way with your body position. Equalizer bars are a great tool to use to practice and strengthen the muscles you need to do a full pull up. You can do this with your feet on the floor as well or elevated on a bench as I have shown to make it more challenging. Strengthen your back muscles, arms and shoulders and not to mention your grip strength. Lets see your pull up! Resistance Band Squat-Row
Want to add an awesome compound exercise to your workout with just using a resistance band? Squat-Row Loop your resistance band on the inside of a door knob. Stand far enough to have enough resistance, feet shoulder width apart and weight into your heels. Squat keeping a tall posture and arms straight, drive through your heels to come up to full standing position and then bring your elbows in and squeeze your shoulder blades. Superset Leg Workout Try these 2 moves in your next workout. Equipment Needed: small stool/bench, a set of weights if you want to want more resistance Targets: quads, glutes, hamstrings, abs (balance and coordination) 1st exercise: Bulgarian Split Squats Elevate your back leg on the bench/stool and perform a single leg squat. Find your feet positioning that they aren't too close together but also not too far apart. Keeping your weight into your heels to drive and press through while keeping your chest upright for good posture. 2nd exercise: Squats Working every muscle in your legs and your core. Keep your feet shoulder width apart, weight into your heels, tall upright posture. Bend through your hips down and back, drive up through your heels.
