๐ฃPUBLIC NOTICE: Smudging Ceremony
An Indigenous Smudging Ceremony will occur on September 21, 2024 at Kingsdale Community Centre, the gathering space for Extend-A-Family Waterloo Regionโs Walk-or-Wheel Kickoff Event.
Smudging is often part of a labour function. All are welcome to participate as a matter of choice.

We are excited to officially announce the public launch of the Shared Living Collective, which is a partnership between Karis Disability Services oneROOF , Community Justice Initiatives - The Just Community and Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region The purpose of this Collective is to raise awareness of Shared Living housing opportunities throughout Waterloo Region! We are truly and hope to use our collective resources and networks to promote all the amazing opportunities and benefits of Shared Living! Just like , these Shared Living models match people and families together to share their homes and share life together as an affordable housing model. Here are three things you'll want to bring along to our Walk-or-Wheel 2024 Kickoff Event this Saturday:
1. Comfortable shoes. ๐ No matter what distance you'll be walking, running or wheeling, make sure you are wearing comfortable footwear.
2. A reusable water bottle.๐ง We encourage participants to bring their own refillable water bottle - there is a refill station on site.
3. Sun protection.โ๏ธ Make sure to pack your sunscreen, sunglasses and hat.
