Part 2 of our series on pre-purchase inspection tips focuses on what to look at under the hood. In general, keep an eye out for any fluid leaks, and make note of the condition of any hoses and linings.
In addition, you can take it one step farther by checking the engine oil colour by using the dip-stick. You'll want to look for a golden-brown colour here.

The race is over! 🏁
After 9 days and over 800km traveled, the Cops for Cancer - Tour de Valley has come to a close. This was such an amazing event, and Applewood could not have been more proud to be the title sponsor for it.
Big shout out to all the amazing riders, volunteers, law enforcement, and anyone else who helped make this special event possible. With your help, Tour de Valley was able to raise a whopping $347,300 for childhood cancer research and support services at the Canadian Cancer Society 🙌 🙌

Ready to ride? 🚴♀️
Applewood Auto Group is proud to be the title sponsor for the Cops for Cancer Tour De Valley, kicking off next Wednesday, September 21. From the 21st to the 29th riders will tackle the gruelling landscape the Fraser Valley has to offer, travelling everywhere from Tsawassen to Boston Bar.
Tour de Valley is currently at 88% of their donations goal, but there is still time left to get involved. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society through Cops for Cancer are used to fund life-saving pediatric cancer research and caring support programs like Camp Goodtimes to reduce its impact.

Music, demolition derbies, and good friends. That's a perfect weekend in our books!
This past weekend was the 54th annual Hope Brigade Days . It was an amazing few days in the valley filled with motorsports events, derbies, logging shows and many more events, and even included a Saturday night concert from country music star Aaron Pritchett .
It's truly awesome to see people come together to celebrate community, and Applewood is proud to have been a part of it.

Last Friday (September 9), the Driven Project took over Area 27 Motorsports Park in Oliver, BC for a day of fast cars, smiles, and good times. The Driven Project aims to provide "Supercar Therapy" to children who are battling heavy life challenges, and events like this give these children and adrenaline-filled escape from reality.

August 26th is National Rescue Dog Day! The Applewood Auto Group is proud to partner with RAPS, the Regional Animal Protection Society. RAPS have long dreamed of opening a dog sanctuary. This sanctuary will be modelled on the RAPS Cat Sanctuary, and will provide dogs with the socialization, training, rehabilitation and care they need to become adoptable pets. The goal is to find loving forever homes for all of the dogs in the sanctuary, no matter how long it takes and that these dogs will eventually find themselves at the heart of a loving forever family. The Applewood Auto Group is committed to supporting RAPS in this important endeavour and we encourage others to do the same. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these deserving animals.
