A hockey rink cribbage board...I would definitely make more of these. Super fun gift!

The Challenge: make a shower stool using only joinery...no screws, no glue. Made from teak and oiled with mineral oil I am going to love using this in the shower to shave or just sit cause why not right!

Before anyone gets at me for not putting slots in the seat I would defend my choice to have a solid seat because it's easier to dry it off and clean it versus a slotted seat.

The joints that I used are through tenons with cross wedges, dovetail for the seat, half lap joints, and through tenon fork joint.

I would change the design a bit if I ever built it again to make attaching the seat a bit easier but nonetheless I'm thrilled with how it turned out!

Just going to share all the angles because I'm so thrilled with how this baby turned out! A tea box for a teacher gift! The lid is inlayed with cherry, Walnut, canary wood, maple, and wenge to represent a pencil!

I designed some stickers for mental health awareness! Many makers on here found recovery and healing from anxiety, depression, and addiction by designing, building, and sharing content! So I made some stickers to promote mental health awareness with the intentions of making the topic of mental health as easy to talk about as saw dust or dovetails are.

Commissioned woodland creatures were just delivered today! I really enjoyed making the mountains using epoxy! What are some other epoxy projects you would like to see?

Made from Freijo (aka Brazilian teak) live edge slabs and wenge inlaid risers. This board is stamped on the back with #1 as it was the first segment in a live edge slab that it was made from. The contrast between the reddish brown heart wood and the blonde-amber-grey sap wood will add warmth to any kitchen!

Due to the unique nature of each piece, no two pieces are alike in size, color, or shape. Color and grain will vary between each board. On average the boards are approximately 14.5 inches long and 8.5 inches wide, however some are smaller and some are larger.

It's time, folks...to formally introduce myself!

Hi, I am Brittany. I am the brains of the operation over here. I am a self-taught woodworker and I discovered the sub-niche of fine woodworking in January 2022 after I was graciously asked to build an urn for my great uncle who had passed away.

I officially launched Black & Amur Wood Co. on June 9, 2022. I am passionate about well-built, sustainable wood goods that can be created to last for many years. I love being able to design cutting boards and planning out new patterns. I also enjoy building small to medium sized furniture. I am glad you are here and I love this community of woodworkers that I have become apart of!

I have been working very hard on it for the past several months in between being sick and dealing with sick kids. I have learned so much about how to build a site, take product photos, and much more. It is imperfectly perfect and I am very proud of my work and I proved myself that I could do it!

I will be highlighting the current products for sale over the next few days starting with my signature cutting board!

NEO by Black & Amur is the first signature cutting board named for its shape and clean angles, its a modern twist on the classic cutting board. Where absence creates function. This board boasts a hefty 2 inch thick surface to prep food with 2 opposing L-shaped super deep juice grooves that allow for prepping even the juiciest cuts of meat or the ripest of vegetables. Being able to move food off the board is also done with ease, by removing the opposing corners and chamfering the underside of the board, a modern twist on the classic plate insert is created. This also creates ease of movement as your fingers can grasp the underside of the board.
