There will never be words

I can share my experience of the day as a high school student in boarding school wondering if my parents who were flying back from europe were okay.

I can share what it felt like last year when I stood at ground zero for the first time as i volunteered on a high school field trip.

But there will never be words to say how the world, especially in north american, changed that day.

Another sneak peek from our photographer's play date (see more on the last post) this time with the beautiful Elisa as our model. We even got her BF Jesse to lend a (literal) hand.

This sessions concept - a canvas with a frame (and cut out) that allows for beautiful portraits and it to become 3D as a model comes through the frame into 3D

On Tuesday Night, and I got together for what I like to call our photographer play dates.
This was the third session of us working a concept together for a collab shoot.

The goal - to push ourselves creatively and learn together.
We take turns with concepts, who's studio we use (his is a black windowless vs. my white window filled natural light studio), the type of lighting (all flash at Mark's and Natural light or constant light at mine) and more!

Beyond excited to hope on a zoom call tonight with Tanya & Chris to share images from their Fanshawe Pioneer Village Micro Wedding earlier this summer.

Does every photo session or wedding include a personal image viewing session? Heck yes!
If you don't live close do you have to come in person? Nope! You are always welcome...but zoom is our friend too (sometimes)

These two were a blast to work with.
Being originally from Hamilton area myself, we may have gotten a little carried away chatting about all the classic spots in Hamilton that have been renamed (for the record it always has been and always will be Copps Colosseum in my mind)

Now let's celebrate these lovebirds!

Sometimes, the hardest part of any session is getting a couple to loosen up and just go with my (sometimes crazy) ideas but....then they see the images and tell me how much they are glad they ran with it.

This bright wall...totally wasn't part of the original plan that Amanda & Matt had. Heck, it wasn't part of mine.
But I'm so glad we took 5 mins to play with it!

Today in studio....confidence and joy are on order for this beautiful lady!

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Amanda & Matthew into the studio this morning to share some smiles and laughter as we revisited all the moments we shared in their engagement session.

One of the best compliments, hear that not only did they like the photos but they had fun, made memories, and are feeling more comfortable in front of the camera going into their wedding day this fall.

Congrats again on your 1 year anniversary, and upcoming I do's!

Today is such an uplevel kind of day!

New headshots and portraits in studio in St Louis plus...I'm featured on a podcast that just dropped this morning!

In just a couple of hours, I'm back in one of my homes away from home in the studio of friends and mentors. It's the whole reason for the trip and a part of the birthday celebrations this year that I've soooo been looking forward to!

This time...we are flipping the script.
I'm not here to shoot alongside them, to attend a workshop, or to prep for shutterfest.

This is a visit with friends but also a chance for me to step on the other side and put myself in the hands of my girl (the better looking have of photography) as she styles and photographs me for some new business portraits as well as some creative portraits completely at her whim.

BTS coming in the stories later today, and then we can eagerly await the image reveal together!

The best part...I get to visit with the team, get all polished up pretty with Brandy from , and be part of Alissa's creative day as other models join in studio today too.

Sneak Peek time - Victoria & Jared's Engagement Session

Yesterday we snuck out between rainstorms for a little fun in the fields with these two (and their pup) on a family farm.

I'm signing off for the weekend for some early birthday fun with my hubs and a wedding (2nd one as guests together this year)...but first...

It's sneak peek time!
This two fabulous people were so patient as we had to delay our session due to the extreme temps back in June, because these brave souls are teachers too (ie they spent a lot of time in the heat all day so we weren't doing it all evening too).
But it was worth it! The stories they shared, the way they looked at each other, how they laughed and smiled together. This is what love is all about.

Less than 100 days til they say I do, help me congratulate these lovebirds!
