Mental Health Conference: Here and Beyond
Welcome to the Centre of Deaf Education & Accessibility Forum (CDEAF). My name is Cathy Chovaz. I am a clinical psychologist, professor at Kings University College at Western and Director of CDEAF. I want to invite you to a Mental Health Conference on June 3rd at Kings University College. We believe mental health is very important and impacts everybody. CDEAF feels it is time for us to all come together including professionals, parents, Deaf community, teachers, interpreters, social workers, doctors, and police to discuss mental health. In the morning we will have two international presenters. The first is Dr. Marg Du Feu from Ireland and the second is Dr. Bob Pollard from the USA. They will tell us about mental health services in their countries. In the afternoon we will have local agencies present about mental health services. We have three agencies including PAH!, CHS Connect Counselling and Silent Voice. We will end the day with an expert panel to answer questions and have discussions. All of this is so important so please come! The cost of registration is cheap at $50 per person and $25 for students. See you on June 3rd!
