Happy 2nd birthday Mobilita!!!

What an amazing two years it has been. There are no words to express how rewarding it has been to watch my business grow from nothing.

I had my logo made almost 3 years before I opened my clinic. This business existed in my mind long before I opened its doors for the first time.

It was always a matter of when not if I was going to open this clinic. I knew nothing about payroll, bookkeeping, literally anything that had to do with running a business outside of being a chiropractor. A few weeks before I opened the clinic, I asked my husband if it was a bad idea and he just laughed (probably thinking a bit late for that thought). He never had an ounce of doubt in my dream and always encouraged me when many people probably thought I was crazy opening a business in the middle of a pandemic.

This clinic started with just me and now I am so lucky to share this space with the best practitioners around (.daniellesmith .rmt ). The whole team here makes every day at work a blast.

To all the patients that have stepped foot in this clinic, thank you! Thank you for making my dream a reality.

I am beyond grateful for everyone who has supported Mobilita over the past two years.

🥂

Why is it so important to take a high quality prenatal supplement?

In order to grow another human, a mom’s body requires a little extra help.

Folic acid is one of the very important vitamins that our body needs for neural tube development. The neural tube turns into the baby’s spine, spinal cord, skull and brain and develops 4-6 weeks after conception. Most women discover they are pregnant in this exact same time frame. This is why taking prenatal vitamins BEFORE getting pregnant is very important.

Prenatal vitamins should be taken throughout pregnancy and for the duration of time that you are breastfeeding (if you are breastfeeding).

There are many other reasons why prenatals are essential, but hopefully we have helped outline how crucial they are even before you know you are pregnant.

Always consult a healthcare professional to ensure that you are taking a high quality supplement that meets your body’s needs.

Today was the last class of this session of postpartum rehab. 👩🏻‍🍼

It was a pleasure working with each of these moms and helping them recover from childbirth. At the beginning of these classes, we assessed everyone’s diastasis recti. We assessed them again today and every single mom noticed drastic improvement. If we want our bodies to heal, we need to ensure our rehab is geared towards our goals.

For any moms out there interested in signing up for the next session of classes, they will be starting March 22nd!

Email [email protected] or drop a DM to find out more!

👩🏻‍🍼These mamas were killing it this morning at postpartum rehab

At these classes we embrace:
✨tired mamas from sleepless nights
✨crying babies
✨hungry babies
✨that everyone is at a different stage of healing

Yet we always have fun and make sure everyone is on the right path to recovery. A 6 week clearance does not mean you are ready to lift heavy or run 5k. You need proper rehabilitation to prevent injuries and heal your body from childbirth.

Stay tuned for the next round of classes that will be starting in March!

Can’t wait to be back tomorrow teaching postpartum rehab!!!

Postpartum rehab should include:
✨pelvic floor healing
✨strengthening core and glutes
✨proper breathing
✨postural strengthening
✨Recognizing that just like your birth experience, your postpartum healing process is unique to you! No comparisons!

Things we work to avoid/improve:
❌p*eing your pants
❌pelvic organ prolapse
❌diastasis recti (making sure this heals properly)
❌Bounce back culture

It is time to abolish this idea that women need to get back as quickly as possible. Bouncing back without proper rehab leads to injury, long term problems and a lifetime of p*eing your pants!

Golf season is just around the corner 🏌🏻‍♀️

Two point planks help to achieve stability throughout the golf swing. Stability is the foundation of power generation. This plank variation incorporates the whole body and aims to improve core function.

During this exercise, you will be resisting trunk rotation. When you are preventing your body from rotating to the right, you engage your left external oblique and your right internal oblique (and vice versa). They work as functional pairs.

This also helps to encourage the cross body connections from the glutes to the opposite lats. This is crucial in stability and force generation across the posterior chain.

Stability first, then force production.

Master this and you’ll be hitting bombs 💣

Cervical spine adjustments 💥

They’re gentle, they’re safe, they’re noisy and man does your neck ever feel good afterwards.

This adjustment is one of many ways that neck pain can be treated. The adjustment occurs within a normal range of motion. When muscles get tight and pull on the joints in the neck, our range of motion gets limited over time. The adjustment helps to get that range back.

Adjustments work so well in conjunction with soft tissue work, acupuncture, exercises, etc.

How can acupuncture help with your injuries?? 📍

Well, for starters, acupuncture promotes blood flow to the area and stimulates the central nervous system. Our blood contains many healing properties which your injury needs to heal.

Acupuncture can also aid in pain control since it stimulates the production of pain reducing chemicals called endorphins.

Electro-acupuncture allows for a current to be passed between the needles increasing the potential for healing. This doesn’t have to be used but can help to amp up the treatment.

Acupuncture can be used to treat many different injuries including: lower back pain, headaches/migraines, post concussive syndrome, TMJ dysfunction, knee injuries, ankle injuries, shoulder injuries, the list goes on…

Acupuncture doesn’t just treat injuries either! Acupuncture has been proven to help fertility issues, hormonal imbalances, stress management, anxiety, smoking cessation, etc.

Depending on the healthcare practitioner and their approach, there are many ways that acupuncture can be used to help.

Acupuncture is typically divided into two categories: the biomedical approach and traditional Chinese medicine. Understanding this difference may help you find the practitioner that can help you. Both methods have extensive research supporting their claims.

For those that have had acupuncture before, what was it for? If you’re nervous about acupuncture, why?

If you are someone who has questions/concerns/general inquiries, please reach out! Education and understanding are fundamental in knowing what options you have for your health!

Our next session of postpartum rehab will begin on January 11th!

The classes will run for 4 weeks every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30am at

This program is to help you heal, recover and get back to safely working out following childbirth!

The goal of these classes are to help you return to whatever level of working out you desire, while making sure your body properly heals and you know what to avoid and what your body is ready to tackle.

This program is safe to do even before that six week clearance. If you have had a vaginal birth with minimal or no tearing you can start as early as 2 weeks postpartum. If you had 3rd or 4th degree tearing or episiotomy you can begin at 4-6 weeks. C-section will need to be at least 6 weeks postpartum.

We have a session that will be finishing up this week and it has been absolutely amazing watching how much these women have improved.

If you’re looking for more information please reach out to me at [email protected] or send a DM!

December 1st will mark the first birthday of .clinic 🥳🎉

It is crazy to think that this time last year I was anticipating opening the doors to my very own clinic, planning a wedding and wondering what this crazy pandemic had in store for all of my hopes and dreams.

2021 was a wild ride.

To say I was lucky this past year is a complete understatement. I mean, essentially every Covid restriction lifted right before our wedding so that and I could have the most perfect day ever as if we weren’t living through a global pandemic.

Mobilita has been my dream for so long! Watching my business grow over the past year has been such a surreal experience. I feel so lucky every day that I walk into the office. I am so grateful for all of the support from my amazing patients and everyone in the community that has helped me along the way.

My staff ( .rmt), have been a huge part of making Mobilita come to life and it wouldn’t be the same without each of you!

A huge shoutout to my awesome husband who didn’t think it was stupid to open a business during a pandemic. We actually both made some pretty huge career moves at the same time last year. When you make a jump you never really know what will happen. It can be stressful and we both did it at the same time. There was never a second of doubt. Just straight support. The timing will never be perfect to make big moves but you just have to jump at opportunity. Adam (and obviously Max🐕)’s support has meant the world to me and made this whole process seem easy.

5 years ago, I was graduating from chiro school in the states, wondering if moving to London was the right choice. I think I can safely say, I made the right move.

Make sure to follow .clinic on Instagram and stay tuned for some birthday giveaways next week!

And just one massive THANK YOU to everyone !!!! I appreciate all of you 💕

The postpartum series is a program to help women properly rehab their bodies following childbirth, regardless of the method of delivery. The goal by the end of this program is to educate you on the changes in your body and provide you with all of the tools and preparation to safely return to exercise.

Currently, the standard of care for women following childbirth is a simple 6-week clearance from a medical doctor that does not assess your pelvic floor, muscular function, breathing patterns, diastasis recti, etc. It is not sufficient to assume that at 6 weeks you are ready to return to all activities you did prior to your newest addition to the family. Your body needs to recover and there are ways to help your body heal. There is rehab protocol following any minor or major surgery and any injury. Yet, for women who just delivered a baby, you are expected to return to “normal” without any guidance and ignoring the very real expectation that things in your body just aren’t the same.

It is not normal to p*e when you sneeze or jump rope. It is not normal to experience heaviness of your organs in your pelvis with some activities. It is not normal to see your abdomen cone when you try to get up from lying down. It is time to stop accepting what we have been told are inevitable consequences of being a childbearing mother and delivering a baby.

This program can be completed even prior to getting that 6 week clearance as it is taught by trained professionals who are able to assess and safely guide your personal road to recovery.

When are you able to take this postpartum series?
Vaginal birth with minimal or no tearing - 2 weeks postpartum
Vaginal birth with 3-4th degree tearing or episiotomy - 4-6 weeks postpartum
Cesarean section - 6 weeks postpartum

If you are unsure whether or not you are ready to take this program, please reach out to Dr. Dana Poeta at [email protected] or 519-601-6555 and she will be able to answer any questions or further assess your situation.
