Even though Mother Nature has thrown us a few curveballs this week, installations are progressing.

This project is taking place in Langly, and it's coming along perfectly! The kitchen area was installed first and the living room, office and vanity millwork is taking place this week.

These cabinetry doors are part of our UGO line in the colour "Fashionista." It is a thermally fused laminate (TFL) that is engineered in a synchronized pattern and has a wood texture. It is easy to clean and very durable, and the best part- it's Canadian-made! There are 9 colours and we have samples of them all in our showroom so feel free to pop by and learn more.

On a side note, this is not what our installer looks like; he's just a shy guy, but he very well could have a monocle!

We wanted to post a little note thanking everyone for your continued support. We realize this page has more dust on it than the Nordic Track sitting in my basement, but what can we say other than it is officially our New Year's resolution to post more regularly with content we think you will enjoy!

2023 was a doozy and brought us many projects, 311 to be exact, and an additional 200 multifamily units in our local community of Maple Ridge. It was an epic year for us, but it required every team member to work harder than we thought possible. So, along with a small glimpse of some of the projects we worked on, we are also sending out sincere thanks to all our clients, suppliers, installers, and most importantly, our team- we could not have come out on the other side if it wasn’t for all the extra efforts! Thank you!

Warehouse Assistant Needed!

Blue Mountain Kitchens is looking for an experienced warehouse assistant. Our warehouse in East Maple Ridge (22380 Lilley Drive) is the hub of our new UGO cabinetry line. We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to spearhead this side of the business by offering input into procedures and making the space run efficiently. Initially, you will report directly to the Project Manager, but there is an opportunity to grow this position into a warehouse manager.

Job Duties include:

- Receive new inventory from sea cans and cross-reference with
order list to ensure we receive all pieces
- Shipping and Receiving
- Manage inventory
- Fill warehouse orders
- Label boxes to identify material
- Dispose of leftover packaging material such as wooden crates,
cardboard or unusable pallets
- Hire casual labour to help offload sea cans
- Assemble and modify cabinets/drill doors
- Maintain communication with the project manager

Must-Have:

- Forklift/Order Picker Experience
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Excellent organizational skills
- Awareness of public safety measures
- Ability to use computer technology

Just to let you know, public transit does not go to our warehouse location, so transportation is necessary.

Casual Labour Needed!
We are looking for some extra hands to help assemble cabinets. Please message us if you are interested; we will take as much or as little help as possible over the next few months.
Must have transportation to our Maple Ridge warehouse and be able to lift 50 lbs.

We finally have before and after pictures! So often, we forget to take the before pictures, but the real WOW factor is when you see the transformation.

This is paint on MDF, nougat on the perimeter, and smoke on the island. The countertop is Silestone Ethereal Noctus, and the handles are Denman in graphite.

A cozy cabin post to lead us into the weekend!

This retreat, located in Hope, BC just got a little facelift. The paint colour on the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry is appropriately called "forest floor", a rich and earthy green colour. The mudroom, which sees a lot of action, is a durable TFL in Sheer Beauty that is part of our UGO line.

The whole project turned out amazing and as the homeowner says, it is cabin-y but not too cabin-y.

I'm not sure what's more beautiful, the kitchen or the furry supermodel who kept photobombing our photos? I'm guessing we will all vote for Harley, but we are a cabinet company, so let's talk cabinets.....

This UGO kitchen is a total showstopper! It has Celadon PVC base cabinets and white PVC upper cabinets.

Green is not always the first colour you think of for kitchen cabinets, but this green is not bright, not dark, but just perfect.

Often clients want to inject a little colour into their design but are concerned they may not like their choice 5 years from now. This colour seems to give a splash without the worry.

Marion, the homeowner, also had some fun loading up with storage inserts and creating a hutch/storage area complete with a TV for background noise while cooking.

It was amazing to see the finished product of this kitchen, so first, thank you to the homeowners for letting us photograph it.

This was a two-toned kitchen with white uppers and whale grey base cabinets. These homeowners definitely knew their way around a kitchen and maximized every bit of space possible. They also added in some fun glass accents!

As for whale grey, it is one of our most popular colours, and we are very excited to announce that as part of our 2023 UGO lineup, we now have it in a very durable, low-maintenance PVC.

I really should tell you all about this beautiful kitchen we just completed, but instead, I would rather focus on how organized this spice drawer is! And it is right beside the stove, which is brilliant.

On a side note- Joe- you're busted, I see where you keep your secret stash of Jif peanut butter!

We promise to post the actual UGO kitchen later- it was a beautiful navy blue and white PVC with brushed brass accents.

We received some professional photos of this recent project, and they turned out beautifully. I can only imagine what kind of Christmas memories were made in this kitchen....and what treats we made!

Decluttering and organizing seem to be top of mind for New Year's resolutions, so we included a few photos of some of the storage solutions this kitchen had. My New Year's resolution....be as neat and tidy as this homeowner!

Hi Humans! My name is Rosie, and this is where I get my kibble and bones. My parents clearly have incredible taste in kitchens and, well have you seen me?

They tell me this kitchen is UGO, a super affordable line of cabinetry that is 100% unique to Blue Mountain Kitchens. Mom and Dad chose this line because the lead times are short, and there are so many colours and styles to choose from.

My parents chose matte white and matte black PVC shaker doors with Tafisa wood accents....again, they have pawesome taste! They are also easy to clean, my nose prints wipe right off.

I also included a few pics of my bathroom, well not mine, I go outside, but my humans bathroom.

Must go, the kibble is calling......

Every once in a while we get the pleasure of working on a project in our very own backyard of Maple Ridge- Highpointe. This one has been in the works for a while but we finally have some photos that show how the project is coming along. Covid reared its ugly head on this one and caused some delays but things are bustling over there now. Blue mountain kitchens is responsible for all the kitchens and bathrooms for 153 units which is our largest development to date. What also makes this project so special is that the developers have been Maple Ridgians (ha! Is this right?) all their lives and feel a special connection to the community as do we!

We have also included some of the renderings of what the project will look like at its completion and a little video tooting the developments horn. It deserves a little toot, toot! Just a little behind the scenes....

It is always fun to see what a project looks like during installation- before the handles, appliances, quartz and all the personal touches.

This kitchen is on track to be a favourite...it is our beautiful Viridian super matte PVC , which is essentially a deep green with accent Tafisa shelves in Chameleon.

To give you an idea of what it will look like when it is is finished, we have included the 3D renderings. These are provided to the homeowner during the design phase to help conceptualize their space before committing- kind of like the try before you buy!

Now to the untrained eye, one may call this a white shaker kitchen, but it's not...it is a nougat shaker kitchen! Yep, just like the confection, and this slight off-whiteness, warms the space up.

It came together beautifully and was another fun expression of what the homeowners craved from their space.

I know what I'm craving now, sweets...

Mind the crumbs in the sink!

We love when clients send us pictures of their new kitchens once they have cooked a meal or two and added their personal belongings.

This client had great taste and found neat little ways to add character into the kitchen. From the gold hardware, to the two toned base and upper cabinets and accent cabinet above the sink, there were special touches all around. We even designed bench seating in the breakfast nook to make the area more functional- probably where the toast crumbs are coming from!

As an fyi, this crowd favourite colour combo is Silver Cloud on top and Whale Grey on bottom.

Our warehouse is located in the Blue Mountain Business Park of Maple Ridge which has no public transportation access; your own vehicle is important.

The ideal candidate would be able to lift, move, and load heavy cabinetry, have strong attention to detail and able to read assembly instructions. Forklift experience is an asset as casual warehouse duties may be required.

We have some sad news, our Chief Happiness Officer, Norman has passed. Norman was a staple at Blue Mountain, going to work with Jared nearly every day. He put smiles on the face of our team and clients and undoubtedly things will feel a little off for a while.
Norman, you were an incredible friend to all, your snoring was oddly soothing, and we will miss having someone to blame when there is a strange smell or a suspicious little puddle on the floor. You were the best welcoming committee to anyone who walked through our doors and no one made us laugh like you. You made us better, more patient and reminded us to not take life too seriously. Sometimes when you are having a rough day, all it takes is a missing donut to make us all laugh.

If you have any special memories of Norm, or pictures to share, please feel free to do so in the comments. I'm sure Jared and his family will enjoy reading them.

We are a few days past the Ridge Meadows HOME SHOW and are finally getting around to posting! It was a great show, our best of the season and we cannot express how much we enjoy connecting with our local community. You have helped us build Blue Mountain and continue to help it grow!

Here are a few pictures from the show, including our adorable mini cabinet that shows off our new UGO line. Also, special thanks to Fuller Watson BrandSource, we stole your Werther's and gave them out as our own and you never complained when Jared rested in your adjustable Beauty Rest bed display. The trade show life is clearly exhausting!

UGO CABINETS SAVE CONTRACTOR!

We had a success story which reinforced some of the specs that make our UGO Cabinets so unique.

This custom vanity in PVC Canadian Grey, had just been installed for a homeowner. Unfortunately, when they brought their plumber in, the sink drain was hooked up incorrectly resulting in a leak.

That ominous DRIP, DRIP, DRIP sound alerted the homeowner to the problem but by that time, water had pooled inside and under the cabinets. Luckily, UGO cabinets, unlike many other cabinets in this price point, have 1 mm edge banding creating a barrier that protects the cabinet from moisture and water. They also have adjustable legs that keep them elevated off the floor so they never actually sit in water.

These are important features to consider when buying cabinets. Had they not been UGO, likely the vanity would have to be replaced which is frustrating for the homeowner and expensive for the contractor.

We have taken a lot of pride in designing every detail of our UGO line, it really is the highest quality cabinet for the price. We love showing it off, so if you have a renovation on the mind, come visit us at the Ridge Meadows HOME SHOW April 29, 30 and May 1 at Planet Ice.
