TODAY WE DISCUSS HOW MASSAGE CAN BOOST YOUR MOOD!
🎯 DOPAMINE
THIS NEUROTRANSMITTER IS ASSOCIATED WITH PLEASURE AND REWARD. MASSAGE CAN INCREASE DOPAMINE LEVELS, LEADING TO IMPROVED MOOD AND REDUCED FEELINGS OF DEPRESSION.
ENDORPHINS
THESE ARE NATURAL PAINKILLERS
PRODUCED BY THE BODY. MASSAGE BOOSTS ENDORPHIN LEVELS, WHICH CAN HELP REDUCE PAIN AND INDUCE A SENSE OF EUPHORIA.
🎯 SERATONIN
OFTEN CALLED THE “FEEL-GOOD” NEUROTRANSMITTER, SEROTONIN PLAYS A KEY ROLE IN MOOD REGULATION. MASSAGE CAN ENHANCE SEROTONIN LEVELS, CONTRIBUTING TO REDUCED ANXIETY AND IMPROVED OVERALL MOOD.
🎯 CORTISOL
THIS STRESS HORMONE TENDS TO DECREASE WITH MASSAGE THERAPY.
LOWER CORTISOL LEVELS CAN RESULT IN REDUCED STRESS AND ANXIETY.
🎯 OXYTOCIN
KNOWN AS THE “LOVE HORMONE,” OXYTOCIN PROMOTES FEELINGS OF BONDING AND RELAXATION. MASSAGE CAN INCREASE OXYTOCIN LEVELS, ENHANCING FEELINGS OF COMFORT AND CONNECTION.
🎯 ADRENALINE &
NOREPINEPHRINE
THESE HORMONES ARE PRODUCED BY THE ADRENAL GLAND WHEN DANGER PRESENTS ITSELF, AND ACTIVATE THE FLIGHT-OR-FIGHT RESPONSE. MASSAGE CAN HELP ACTIVATE THE PARASYMPATHETIC STATE, WHICH CAN REDUCE LEVELS OF ADRENALINE AND NOREPINEPHRINE.
Happy Canada Day to everyone. Hope you enjoy time with family, loved ones, friends and colleagues.
- Today we discuss 3 green flags to look for in an RMT ✅
✨ they listen & give you what you want, not what they think you need (or they provide you insights, recommendations, and suggestions to help an area that is bugging you because sometimes there are other ways to get to a desired result)
✨ they genuinely care about what they do, and they make you feel cared for! You can tell when someone does what they love.
✨ they provide insights, empowering educational moments, and answer questions you have with honesty & humility.
✨ Good massage therapists don’t know it all, but we do touch a lot of bodies!
✅ I’d also add another HUGE GREEN FLAG, they take care of themselves through bodywork, movement, good nutrition and more.
✨Massage therapists are high performance athletes and quality self care extends the longevity of their careers and the impact of their touch!
Let us know in the comments what you would add to this list!
today we discuss AIRPWT SHOCKWAVE THERAPY.
💥 Shockwave therapy is where short, high-intensity, and frequent bursts of shockwaves are released into the affected soft-tissue areas that are inflamed, scarred, injured, painful, or contain adhesions.
💥 The shockwaves are not electrical impulses, but rather a type of RPW (radial pressure wave - sound wave) that is a form of mechanical energy. The RPW is applied carefully at the right frequency to treat affected areas. As it passes through the soft tissue, it creates a shockwave that helps increase healing and improves blood circulation.
💥 In addition, shockwave treatment can help break down adhesions, scar tissue, and lower pain in the affected area, as well as reduce the frequency of related muscle spasms.
💥 What Happens During Shockwave Treatment?
During shockwave treatment several things occur at various levels below the affected soft-tissue. These could include:
🩸Increased Blood Flow: Proper blood flow promotes the healing process. When blood flow is restricted healing is slowed. Shockwave treatments help restore proper blood flow for faster healing.
💥 Reduced Pain: The RPWs interrupt the neurons in nerve endings during treatment. This interruption prevents the nerves from sending pain signals to the brain. As a result, patients notice a reduction of associated pain in the affected area.
💥 Cellular Changes: The cells in the treated area are stimulated. The stimulation increases the release of free radicals in the regions. Free radicals are substances that help reduce pain and inflammation.
💪🏻 Reduced Muscle Tone: Shockwave treatment helps lower muscle tone, which helps reduce the occurrence of spasms. In addition, this reduction also helps alleviate muscle pain and discomfort

Top tips on how to get your very best massage experience.
NO SHOW - missing your appointment without calling ahead to cancel. 💥When you are a NO SHOW for your appointment, THREE people lose:
⭐️1. YOU the client don’t receive your service.
⭐️2. OTHER CLIENTS that have tried to get in and could have taken your appointment.
⭐️3. ME who is sitting there wasting valuable time that could have been booked up, instead of waiting to see if you show up.
💥I understand that circumstances may come up that do not allow you to make it to your appointment... but PLEASE be courteous & respectful enough of my time by calling to cancel or reschedule.
💥The clinic policy is 6 hours prior to your appointment. This gives me enough time to attempt to fill your appointment.
⭐️I have a three strike rule.
💥First NO SHOW - 50% charge.
💥Second NO SHOW - 100% charge.
💥Third NO SHOW - I remove you from my client list. If you wish to ever rebook, you MUST prepay for all appointments.

today we discuss the subtrapezial plexus. ⭐️The spinal accessory nerve, as part of the subtrapezial plexus, often gets entrapped between the rhomboid and trapezius muscles. I’ve encountered this issue several times in several different patients over the last month or so. ⭐️One common symptom I need to mentioned is pain with neck rotation. ⭐️ People will often get neck pain when turning their head to the same side as the entrapment. ⭐️ An at home fix to get you through to your next massage or shockwave treatment is: Holding your arm on the affected side across your body as you do chin tucks, this will oftentimes help with mobilizing the nerve. 📬 reposted from #️⃣
today we discuss the nexus between headaches and muscles in the sub occipital triangle. For my regular client, you all know I work for a significant amount of time on the posterior deep cervical extensors of the neck. This post will explain the reason why! ⭐️ explanation continued in comments.
⭐️ with Christmas now behind us, no doubt quite a few of your received massage guns as presents. ⭐️ Home percussion therapy devices such as Hypervolt and Theragun and the multitude of other brands in the market are all the rage these days. I even use them in practice. I’m frequently giving clients advice on how best to use them at home for maximum effectiveness AND safety. Here are a few basic pointers...
⭐️ 1. It should never be intensely uncomfortable. If a whole area is tender to percussion, just lessen the intensity or pressure until it’s tolerable. If it’s just a specific spot, avoid it. It’s likely a bone or a nerve.
⭐️ 2. If you hear the device rattling, either you’re on bone or VERY thickened tissue. That rattling comes because, instead of the gun vibrating the tissue, the tissue refuses to move and the gun just vibrates itself.
⭐️ 3. Don’t just move the device around while you work. That’s no different than a regular massage. Hold spots until they get softer and more supple, or until the skin starts get warm, whichever happens first, then move to new spots.
⭐️ 4. Angle the device to move the tissue in a particular direction, as opposed to just straight down. This works better for thick tissue vs. tissue that’s simply tight.
⭐️ 5. Use the fork attachment to work along the spine while you flex and extend. This is great for getting the facet joints moving and improving circulation to the spine. (You’ll need a helper for this one).
⭐️ 6. Don’t use your device on your neck above C3, the sides or front of your neck at any level, behind the knees, the armpits, the inside of the upper arms, or the inguinal area. These are known as endangerment sites. ⭐️ When used correctly these devices can aid recovery and help get more out of your massage therapy visits in clinic.
Fantastic place to work and a fantastic place for treatment.
