Today, June 10th, we honor Shaheedi Dihada of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, who sacrificed his life for the principles of justice and faith. Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, compiled the Adi Granth, laying the foundation for the Guru Granth Sahib. His dedication to equality and community service continues to inspire us.
Did you know?
Guru Arjan Dev Ji was the first Sikh martyr and the architect behind the Harmandir Sahib, known as the Golden Temple.
Let’s remember his teachings and strive for a world of peace and justice. 🙏🏽
Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, we had an incredible opportunity to support our future leaders during the annual student orientation at the triOS College Mississauga Campus, in collaboration with Mohawk College.

April marks a special time for Sikhs across Canada as we come together to celebrate Sikh Heritage Month.
From the founding of the Khalsa on Vaisakhi, symbolizing courage and sacrifice, to Guru Nanak Dev Ji's remarkable journey spanning 25,000 kilometers, resonating with profound compassion and wisdom, Sikh heritage embodies spiritual richness and universal teachings. At its core lies Seva, selflessly serving humanity—a privilege, not just a duty.
As we honor Sikh Heritage Month, let's pay tribute to these sacred traditions, inspiring us to embody Seva, Simran, and Sacrifice, and to spread the light of Sikhism globally. Happy Sikh Heritage Month to all! 🙏🏽
Our collaboration with the Sikh Student Association of Sheridan College Brampton, Canada, brought about a memorable Hola Mohalla celebration. We thank everyone who came together to reignite th the spirit of Bir Raas. 🙏🪯

In a groundbreaking meeting on March 7th, the legal council of UNITED SIKHS Canada alongside esteemed members of the Sikh community came together with the Peel Regional Police. This important gathering was centered around addressing pressing Sikh issues, effectively combating disinformation, and establishing respectful mug shot protocols in line with the revered Sikh articles of faith.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in fostering understanding and respect between law enforcement and the Sikh community. We are committed to ensuring the dignity of all individuals is maintained, and this meeting underscores our dedication to cultural sensitivity and legal fairness.
We extend our gratitude to the Peel Regional Police for their openness and willingness to engage in these crucial discussions. Together, we are paving the way for a more inclusive and understanding community.
In a recent excerpt from our interview with PTC News, Gurmohan Preet Singh, our Legal Strategy Advisor, highlights the distressing injuries sustained by farmers, including fractured legs and severe gunshot wounds from SLR bullets. Why are military-grade weapons used against peaceful protesters? This approach brings to light serious concerns about the response to nonviolent demonstrations.

Spreading warmth and kindness at Parkdale Activity-Recreation Centre. We served langar to 200 homeless individuals, thanks to our dedicated volunteers Sukhwinder Singh, Mamta, Pahul, and Arshdeep. Shoutout to kitchen in-charge Daryll at PARC for the collaboration. Together, we make a difference! 🙏
The sight was heart-wrenching. It was a blatant disregard for human rights, democracy, and the principles we hold dear. The elderly, some akin to my parents in age, were subjected to indiscriminate firing, their age and frailty ignored. The question of “How could they?” echoed in my mind as I witnessed the unfolding brutality.

Today, I had the incredible opportunity to attend an enlightening webinar on the "Doctrine of Discovery: Stolen Lands, Strong Hearts." It was a deeply impactful session that shed light on the historical and ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous communities due to the Doctrine of Discovery. Attending the webinar was a profound reminder of the importance of my work.
My deepest appreciation goes to LMLIP for facilitating this enlightening session. It has reinvigorated my dedication to standing with Indigenous communities, reinforcing why I do what I do. I am committed to persisting in my role as an ally and advocate for justice and human rights. Let's honor our shared responsibility and work together for the rights and recognition of Indigenous peoples.
