Dojo Cycling Experience 2024 Canada Day Ride

500km ride to raise $5000 to protect 500 million

We are a group of cyclists that like to ride our bikes fast and challenge our limits. This year we have come up with the audacious goal to ride 500km in one day, from Mississauga to Ottawa to raise money for IJM’s work to rescue vulnerable people from slavery and trafficking and protect a 1/2 billion from violence.  

Only July 1, 2024 we will embark on our journey at 2am in Mississauga starting at Via Ciclante Bike shop in Streetsville, and plan to arrive in Ottawa by 6pm in time for Canada day fireworks. We are asking you to join us donating and helping us raise $5000. All donations go directly to IJM and tax receipts will be given for donations of $20 or more.

Over 40 million people are trapped by the violence of modern slavery. International Justice Mission combats everyday violence including, slavery, s*x trafficking, s*xual violence, police abuse of power, theft of land, and citizenship rights abuses. IJM partners with local authorities in the developing world to rescue victims, bring criminals to justice, restore survivors, and strengthen justice systems to prevent the violence from happening in the first place. New Bike Day. It was a long drive and a long day of bike fitting and technical preparation to have both Marcus and Eva feeling great in their new bikes. Wilier SLR 0 and the Wilier Granturismo are their super bikes, enjoy the ride.

On the journey- the wind was on our backs the road were open and we were on our way. Our plan didn’t include the poor air from the forest fires in Quebec. These pictures certainly show the air quality. We rolled quickly to our second rest outside of Kingston. The sandwiches and cantaloupe were really good

Montreal was the starting point and the departure was at 3am. We pedalled through the city at pace while the city slept. The nervous energy was replaced by a feeling of excitement, “holy moly we are actually doing this!”
