The path to Self-awareness is like an awakening to one's intrinsic goodness, opening Self up to being in a relationship with others who see one's worth and accepting all parts of one's system as an equal.

Two more days till my book is out, and what’s my definition of success? This. ✨
I just love the none-pathologizing aspect of Internal Family Systems parts work. Each part of us helps us survive! Reach out and let's bring parts some compassion for a job well done!
In the IFS model of therapy, there are three types of parts we commonly encounter: exiles or parts that carry wounds, firefighters, which are extreme or reactive parts, and managers, which are preventive parts.
Each of these parts is a normal aspect or component of our client’s personality until it needs to take on a specific role within the system (i.e., to protect or to carry a wound as a result of some overwhelming or traumatic life experience.)
All parts of you are worthy - always.
A reminder that you’ve always been worthy ❤️
Sad parts are welcome too! 🥲

I was considered a bit "too much" or "sensitive" by teachers and family members growing up. I know what it's like to bottle up and hide feelings behind a mask of "okayness" so as to make others feel more comfortable. When we do this, the body keeps score, and we may become sicker or increase the painful emotions we keep at bay.
Maybe you see yourself as a burdon for feelings you want to express and I am here to tell you that isn't the case. When we express our inner suffering willingly, we are unburdining ourselves and becoming more authentic beings. And this can be quite freeing. If you want to learn how to free those inner children, who may not quite feel safe to express their truth, give me a shout and I will lovingly lend a hand. See my contact in my bio! đź’ś
Loving this poetry that highlights that our plans do not dictate our happiness, but our minds being strong and able to sit with all that unfolds around and within us leads us to true peaceful presence in life.

Raise the awareness - the complexity of the legacy of trauma is profound, personal, and NOT something one can just simply 'get over.' Be compassionate, caring, curious, clear, and be mindful of what you say to others, and also, to yourselves.
Mother's day isn't easy for some - it can be triggering! Take the time to be kinder, gentler and filled with fierce love and compassion today - we don't always know what someone else is going through.

Mothers Day can be a trigger for many. We see you 🌸
To all those highly sensitive people out there - you have a super power that matters to many. You are not too much! I love you and believe in you! With love, Erin đź’ś
Your trauma is valid!
What can we do about all of this stress we are enduring to keep us from experiencing these troubling effects? Exercise, yoga, mindfulness practices, getting into nature has proven to aid in decreasing levels of stress hormones - every little bit counts!
They come, they go; feelings ride in and out like waves in the ocean. Resist and they persist. "Name it to tame it!" Daniel Siegel
Start to normalize triggers with your children early on and model the calming strategies you are using (and at times just learning yourself). It's never too late to begin.
Try these responses when helping someone cope with their mental health - it could make all the difference.
Whether to yourself, a friend or in the comments, express 3 things you like about yourself.
This simple but effortful exercise helps you build the strength to disengage from negative thoughts; redirects your attention to positive aspects of yourself; and retrains your selective attention bias.
You start to interpret events occurring around you in a less self-critical way. If you stick with it, over time this has effect that elevates your overall sense of your own worthiness—and, subsequently, increases your well-being.
Give it a try! ❤
