Can you guess what is porcelain and what is composite?
This lovely patient initially wanted to replace the bonding on her central incisor (11 or #8) with something more natural looking. So we replaced it with an emax crown. Then she decided that she didn’t like the gaps between her central and lateral incisors so we used some composite bonding on 12( #7) and 22( #10) to close the gaps (photos 3 and 4). The after photo in the first image shows the teeth right after bonding at which point the teeth had dehydrated making the central incisor crown look slightly darker than the rest. If you scroll over to the next image you can see the accuracy of the shade match right after the crown was cemented but before any bonding was done.

Closing the gap between the two front teeth with some composite bonding to create a perfect smile for this lovely patient.

One of the hardest things in dentistry is to match a single central incisor to the other and to the rest of the teeth. This patient had a discoloured central incisor as a result of trauma to the tooth and root canal treatment. The tooth also kept chipping and was affecting the patient’s satisfaction with his smile. A single E-max crown was done on tooth 21 ( #9) to achieve this beautiful result. Thanks to lab for the great job. 😁
