From Fr. Andrew's sermon this morning: "You will always be in my prayers – this parish, and each of you – for good health and unswerving faith, and always in thanksgiving for the way that our time together has shaped us all as we live our lives in Christ, and in this ongoing story of good news of which we are all part."

We are in close consultation with the Bishop about the future God is calling us to. We are trusting God with our future; while we don’t know what the future holds, we know that God has promised to be with us always.
Despite the cool-ish weather, we had a great time yesterday at our fall barbecue! Many thanks to all who came, ate and helped – particularly our master chef, Alvin.

"Church growth isn’t about filling a building. It’s about filling the neighborhood with the good news of the love of Jesus."
Want Real Church Growth? Don’t Fill Your Building, Empty It Churches emptying out into their community to share the good news is a greater sign of effective ministry than an increase in church attendance will ever be.

"Remember when-ing curtails our call to move ever forward, to be the church in every time. Remember when-ing keeps us from fully appreciating the movement of the Spirit in our midst, and the story of God and God’s people of which we are part. Now."
Can I ban "remember when"? Questions that begin with "remember when" tend to drip with futile nostalgia—and rarely have anything to do with the church's mission.
We’re still collecting non-perishable food items for St. Hilary’s Cupboard! Some items they continue to need on a regular basis are instant coffee, regular tea, evaporated milk, canned fish or meat, peanut butter, Corn Flakes and bars of hand soap.

When was the last time you had a conversation about God?
Sharing Faith Is Increasingly Optional to Christians - Barna Group In 1993, Barna partnered with Lutheran Hour Ministries to understand why people did and did not engage in intentional outreach. We asked follow-up questions 25 years later to see if faith-sharing is labored in a more digital, secular and contested culture—and found that spiritual conversations are...
Today we pray together as a Diocese as we discern God’s call for the Church in our upcoming electoral synod.
Almighty and All-Present God, who delights in those who earnestly seek your will, grant to your Church the riches of wisdom and discernment, that for such a time as this, a servant-leader may be chosen who reflects the character and wisdom of Jesus Christ. May this Coadjutor Bishop be strengthened through the encouragement and power of the Holy Spirit, as they labour for renewal, strive for unity, and seek those isolated and far from God; we pray all these things through the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
