In other news this cake was just so sweet, I see a lot of themes for first birthday but I adore anything to do with gardening, harvests or farmers markets so this one held a special place in my heart🐇

If you have any gardening tips for me in Southern Ontario I'd love to hear them down below. A lot of my garden is edible and I'd love to be able to incorporate some of the fresh produce into my cakes!

It's spring🌱🌿

For me the warmer weather means it's time to garden so in all of my free moments I've been outside trying to plant fruits and veggies, appreciating the flowers and watching all the new babies be born!

We have a robins nest in the front yard and a little bunny burrow smack dab in the middle of my garden, cute right?!

Until I woke up and noticed a lot of my plants were missing more than a few leaves..

Anyway, I'll stick to this little bunny in his garden because he is super cute!

TBH I'm not really a slab girl BUT I looooooved the aesthetic so much I decided to do my own take on it but on a round cake and couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

April showers bring May flowers🍓🌸

I normally try to post every day but last week my family suffered a great loss and as a result we have all been in a bit of a fog.

Yesterday I was able to go get some plants to start my garden and seeing the flowers blooming and fruit starting to appear, I remembered some of the little things that make us smile.

I hope this post just serves as a reminder that it's okay to not be okay and that there are brighter days ahead🍓

I've been holding onto this one for nearly a year because it gives me summer vibes but with this nice weather I figured it was time.

This buttercream babe was a 4" round and served 5-10 guests but we were still able to fit every ninja turtle AND all of their weapons! The birthday boy didn't want pizza slices but I was so tempted to add some gold ones in there 🍕

Fighting my way into spring like ⚔️

This cake was a really fun mix of modern with a classic cartoon..can you guess the theme?

I just finished making Mav's 4th birthday cake last weekend so it felt like the perfect time to share his paw patrol party from last year🐾

I've been lucky enough to help him celebrate year after year BUT on this cake, I made one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made on a cake🙈 Thankfully these are some incredible people who were so understanding and allowed me to fix my mistake- even after it made it all the way home.

Serious question: Who is your favourite Paw Patrol Character? 🐾

As someone who has never watched a single episode, I can firmly say I'm a Rubble girl based on all the cakes I've made and all of my nieces and nephews who can't seem to get enough!

I think it's pretty clear who this little guys favourites were!

The nostalgia of this cake brought me so much joy. The Very Hungry Caterpillar was one of my favourite books as a kid so when I finally got to create it in cake form I was so excited.

I'm also a very Hungry Caterpillar on Sunday Mornings but I need more than a little green leaf, sign me up for his Saturday menu!

✨Finding your style is HUGE when it comes to cake design✨

I know what you're thinking, "Cassie don't your clients just tell you what they want?!" Yes and no! 🤔

A client comes to me with how many guests they need to serve, what their budget looks like, and a theme/colour scheme. Then I work with them and the inspiration photos they send in order to create something one of a kind that I will have fun creating.

Last week I had a client who had a very specific list of likes and dislikes and while this may seem helpful, it's actually incredible stressful. I do require creative freedom for each and every order but when the guidelines are so specific I tend to overthink.

The cake for that particular client? I redid it three times, had two mini melt downs and didn't love it when it went out the door. I knew I shouldn't have taken the order but here we are. Another lesson learned.

This cake I LOVED! It was for one of my favourite clients who always trusts me to get creative and I had so much fun making something special for little William! We are currently planning his third birthday cake and I cannot wait.

Happy Mario Day!

Growing up we took Mario Party seriously in my house. We had every one for every platform.

Fun Fact: To this day my mom is still mad at me for moving her joystick to "no" when asked if she wanted to buy a superstar🙈 I was 7 but it is still the biggest argument we have ever had.

Last year when I got to take my bestie Logan to see the new Mario Bros movie I was excited to say the least! When one of my favourite clients then asked me to create a Mario Bros Movie cake I was PUMPED!

I hope you guys love this one as much as I do because it literally has everything; edible images, fondant, buttercream, sculpted figures, detailed extra characters, EVERYTHING.
