Sunset over the Eastern Townships to close out our Québec Saint-Jean long weekend.

Last event of the season with my design community until we meet again in the fall. I’m looking forward to the collaborations I’ve got coming up with some amazing designers I’ve met there.

Shelves by me, shelf styling by my client! This was a great project to work on and a good example of what can be done with an empty space or nook. My client wanted floating shelves that were minimal but a bit rustic to match the rest of her condo she had already decorated. I stained 2” thick lumber black and had it cut to size. Even though I used invisible floating shelf rods attached to the studs, they were a bit too heavy. I added a few small L brackets on the side walls that I painted to match, this gave them enough support.

It’s been such a chilly dark spring but it’s made the deeper, richer tones around me come through. I’ve paired some of my favorite photos I took this spring with Farrow & Ball’s paint colors as inspiration.

It was great stopping by my client’s to see how my plaster wall looks now that all their furniture has been moved in! I mixed a few shades of grey and beige to create this look with Marmorino Venetian Plaster was so great to work with!

For my mom’s birthday I wanted to share her dollhouse with you. It always fascinated me, her grandfather bought it for her while she still lived in Scotland in the early 50s. The front opened up to reveal carpeted floors, wallpaper and lots of little furniture.

I’ve seen so many great centrepieces posted this year and I wanted to create my own for hosting Christmas dinner after a few years. I found this sweet light green ceramic dish years ago at a thrift shop and with some flowers, greenery and candles it’s perfect for the table!

Now that fall is officially behind us, I'm sharing my fall color palettes from photos I’ve taken over the years.

When most of us think of fall colors, we think of oranges, reds and yellows but there are so many more shades that come out at that time of year as winter is on the horizon. Here are some of my favourite and surprising shades paired with Sherwin Williams paint swatches.

I worked on a beautiful project a little while back that I hadn’t got to share yet. It was a plaster finish for my client’s newly built powder room. There was already amazing pink and beige marble in the space but they wanted to add color and texture to the walls. I used “Marrakech walls” in the color “Old Romance” by the company Pure & Original, I’m so happy with the end result! There’s been so many dreary days lately but I love how our string lights add a little soft glow and twinkle to the room during darker afternoons. We leave them up all year around our french doors so when Christmas arrives we’re already set!
