1) Choose an organic color 🌿 : natural, warm, and earthy tones (likes olive and sage hues) can stand the test of time much better than a vibrant color. Organic colors will act as a neutral for all the other components in your kitchen, while still making a design statement.

For a little under $5K, these homeowners achieved their goal of getting rid of the pink-ish undertone of their oak wood cabinets! 🙌
THE ASK: They wanted a neutral color, but didn't want a bright white. AND, they really did not want a color with any red undertones (they were done with pink 😆).
RESULT: The final kitchen cabinet color we chose together was PEARL, a soft off-white hue with just a little hint of greige (no pink).

But first, are we saying that all DIY kitchen cabinet painting projects will result in this type of finish? No, of course not. But somewhere during the process, this homeowner got it wrong ❌ We can’t know exactly what happened, but this kind of failure is definitely the result of a combination of things going wrong.
Here are 5 possible reasons for kitchen cabinet paint failure:
1) Improper surface preparation: failure to clean and degrease or inadequate sanding.
2) Bad priming: either choosing the wrong primer or applying it too thin. Wood absorbs lots of moisture, so a speciality primer is needed.
3) Poor quality paint: using a low-quality latex paint that’s not meant for kitchen cabinets.
4) Improper paint application: not mixing the paint well enough before application and/or applying too many thick coats of paint.
5) Insufficient dry time: not allowing the paint to dry properly between coats.

Nous avons collaboré avec Sarah Couture pour sa série "Les Rénos de Sarah" pour moderniser sa maison au style des années 90. En activité depuis 2010 à Boucherville, au Québec, nous avons commencé à l’ancienne, avec un pinceau, un rouleau et la peinture au latex. Lorsqu’un client nous a demandé « Pouvez-vous peindre mes fenêtres en vinyle? », nous avons dû refuser. Nous savions que la finition aurait l’air repeinte et finirait par s’écailler. Nous nous sommes demandés : « Si de nouvelles fenêtres sont peintes dans une usine de peinture, pourquoi ne pourrions-nous pas faire la même chose, mais à l’extérieur, sur place? Et pas seulement pour les fenêtres, mais pour d’autres surfaces extérieures aussi! » Nous avons donc rétroconçu le processus de peinture en usine en combinant chimie, technologie et équipement, et ce, afin de fournir aux propriétaires une nouvelle solution de peinture extérieure de qualité supérieure. Nos solutions permettent de rafraîchir les revêtements d’aluminium et de vinyle, de fibrociment, de bois d’ingénierie, de stuc et de brique, ainsi que les portes, portes de garage et fenêtres.
