Introducing Bradbury, the latest McGill Robotics Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV)!

Introducing Bradbury, the latest McGill Robotics AUV!

The AUV is named after Ray Bradbury (1920-2012), a science-fiction author whose many novels and short stories include Fahrenheit 451 and The Martian Chronicles. Through his work, Bradbury criticized his culture and society; Fahrenheit 451 spoke of the burning of books as a form of censorship. Incidentally, the book itself has been banned or censored for its vulgar nature. He became known for his predictions of the future within his fictional work. Of it, he wrote, "People ask me to predict the Future, when all I want to do is prevent it."

McGill Robotics is excited to compete with our new AUV at this year's AUVSI and ONR's International RoboSub Competition in July. We will be posting more details about Bradbury and the upcoming competition in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

---
