WARNING! EB-5 500,000 USD TEA Investment Option – Specific conditions apply, be careful!

In recent weeks, several information has circulated on social media and other platforms to the effect that the EB-5 Investment was back to the 500,000 USD threshold, leading some to believe that this applied to all types of EB-5 investment.

In fact, it is not that simple. On June 30, 2021, the EB-5 Regional Center Program failed to be reauthorized by the U.S. government, hence closing for now one of the most popular EB-5 investment options. This stream has some particularities that applicants must carefully consider.

The EB-5 program is going through a period of uncertainty. There are still good opportunities but applicants must understand the conditions applying to their investment. 🍁 BREAKING NEWS: CANADA EASES BORDER MEASURES FOR TRAVELERS!

On June 21, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details for the first phase of easing border measures for international travelers! As of July 6, 2021, travelers that were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days before entering the country will no longer be subject to the mandatory 14-day quarantine.

To be deemed fully vaccinated, travelers are required to have received the full series of accepted COVID-19 vaccines in Canada. These include vaccines produced by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson).

Travelers will still require to receive negative COVID-19 test results on arrival in Canada as well as in the originating country prior to their flight. (Source: canada.ca, 21/06/2021)

🔥 QUEBEC IMMIGRANT INVESTOR PROGRAM IS LIKELY TO REOPEN BEFORE THE END OF 2021!
According to the “Gazette Officielle du Québec” published on March 31, 2021, applications for the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP) will be suspended until April 1, 2023. As a reminder, the Government of Quebec had previously suspended the intake of applications for the QIIP until March 31, 2021.
However, it is important to note that MIFI indicated that the new Program is well underway and that their intention is to unveil the new criteria for the QIIP and to reopen the Program by the end of 2021.
